    • PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of a magnetic substrate and to decrease the deformation by constituting a plastic magnetic substrate having a metallic film between a plastic substrate and magnetic film. CONSTITUTION:A disk 1 consisting of a poly-p-phenylene terephthal ether amide resin and having 2mm. thickness and 13cm diameter is used as the plastic substrate. The metallic film 2 superposed successively with 20mum copper, 10mum nickel and 2mum chromium is provided on the surface thereof and the magnetic film 3 having the solid component prepd. by mixing 65wt% ferrite powder with 35wt% resin consisting essentially of methyl methacrylate and having 0.5mum thickness is formed thereon. The metallic film can be provided on the plastic substrate of such magnetic substrate by subjecting said substrate to electroless plating of copper by the conventional method and electrodepositing nickel and chromium thereon. The magnetic film is formed by spin coating of a magnetic paint. The deterioration of the plastic substrate can be prevented by the shielding effect of the metallic film in the stage of curing the resin by IR irradiation after heating the coating to 100 deg.C to drive out the solvent.

The fluorinated carbon lubricating agent having COOH, for example, the grease which is the product of Du Pont, is expressed by the formula and is diluted with a solvent is coated on said magnetic layer and is baked for about 30min at 100-170 deg.C. The surface of the magnetic coating film is subjected to a varnishing treatment after the polishing. Lower alcohol, such as, for example, methanol, ethanol or isopropanol is usable as the alcohol and, for example, ethyl ether, methyl ether, methyl ethyl ether, etc. are usable as the ether. The liquid of such alcohol or the like is preferably supplied directly to the fabric, etc., and it is equally well that the liquid is supplied on the surface of the rotating magnetic coating film and is fed to the surface to be brought into contact with the fabric, etc.

    • PURPOSE:To attain discs of the same thickness efficiently, by supporting many substrates for magnetic discs on a rotatable shaft and immersing substrates in an painting tank, which is provided with a circulating filter and is charged with a magnetic paint, in a prescribed depth to apply a magnetic paint uniformly to them. CONSTITUTION:A paint 1 where a magnetic powder and a resin are dispersed and dissolved in a solvent is put in a tank 2, and the paint is filtered by a filter 3, and the filtered paint is circulated by a pump 4.     • PURPOSE:To prevent fouling between a rough part and a magnetic disk and the stripping of the rough part, by applying a lubricant to the rough part formed on the surface of the slider of a varnishing head and by carrying out varnishing while rotating the magnetic disk. CONSTITUTION:A rough part 2 is formed on the surface 11 of the slider 1 of a varnishing head 3 attached to gimbal spring 6 by sticking a lapping tape having an abrasive grain layer contg. hard fine grains to the surface 11 with a double- coated adhesive tape 7 or an adhesive. A soln. of a lubricant such as perfluoroalkyl polyether is applied to the part 2 and dried. The part 2 is then brought into contact with the magnetic layer of a magnetic disk 4, and the surface of the magnetic layer is varnished while rotating the disk 4. Thus, the surface finishing of the ramp load type magnetic disk is carried out without causing fouling between the part 2 and the magnetic layer and the stripping of the part 2 owing to the lubricant applied to the part 2.
