    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic power unit utilizing water pressure generated by a water flow passing through a water supply port, suitable especially for supplying constant flow of water.
      SOLUTION: The hydraulic power unit comprises a first fluid passage provided with a diaphragm valve-type constant flow valve on its upstream side and a hydraulic power generating device for generating electric power by rotating a water turbine on its downstream side and a second fluid passage for bypassing the first fluid passage and discharging the flow unnecessary for power generation. The unit is equipped with a distance detecting means for detecting the displacement amount of an opening control plate of the diaphragm valve type constant flow valve at a downstream side facing part of the opening control plate. The unit is also equipped with an estimating means for estimating pressure of the first fluid passage according to the output of the distance detecting means and estimating the flow through the first/second fluid passages based on cross-section areas of the first/second fluid passages.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air supply device of hydraulic machinery capable of being stably operated by properly controlling according to the operating conditions of the hydraulic machinery or holding a desirable position according to the state of waterstream in the air supply device suppressing whirl.
      SOLUTION: In this air supply device, a rotating air supply tube 13 rotating about an axis generally vertical to the axis of a suction tube 9 is installed in the suction tube 9. The rotating air supply tube 13 comprises an opening part 15 diagonally cut out relative to the axis of the tube, and the opening part faces the inside of an upper suction tube 9a. The other end of the rotating air supply tube 13 is connected to the suction tube 14 opening to the atmosphere for taking in the external air. The rotating air supply tube 13 is rotated by an instruction from a control device 18, and the opening part 15 following the operation faces downstream relative to the direction of a swirl flow.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pumped storage power generator in which any one of emergency stop, abrupt stop and normal stop can be carried out stably with no possibility of deviating from a variable speed range. SOLUTION: When an abrupt stop command is delivered from a pump turbine 1, a flow rate regulating means 90 restricts the quantity of inflow water at a maximum rate. A converter controller 20 stores the frequency and phase of the exciting current of a generator-motor 2 at the time of delivery of the abrupt stop command and excites the generator-motor 2 while fixing the exciting current to the stored frequency and phase so that the generator-motor operates as a synchronous generator. Since the output from the generator-motor 2 decreases through synchronization action as a synchronous generator when the quantity of inflow water to the pump turbine 1 is restricted, rotational variation is suppressed in the output reduction process and the operation can be stopped stably.
