    • PURPOSE:To increase the steering stability without damaging to the vibro- isolation characteristics by setting the resiliency center of a plurality of lateral links having the opposing ends thereof mounted to a swing arm or a wheel supporting member and a cross member, respectively, on the resiliency center line of the cross member. CONSTITUTION:The longitudinal opposing front and rear end parts of a cross member 1 extending in the lateral direction of a vehicle are resiliently supported by a chassis 3 via resilient bushes 2. One end 4a of a swing arm 4 extending in the front and the rear direction of a vehicle is stuck to a wheel supporting member 5. The sheel supporting member 5 is joined with a cross member 1 via a plurality of lateral links 6 to 8. In this case the resiliency center of each of the lateral links 6 to 8 is placed on the resiliency center line S of the cross member 1. The steering of the suspension due to compliance of the resilient bush in the cross member with respect to the external input to the chassis may be avoided.

    • PURPOSE:To improve rigidity, durability and the like by forming a swing arm for connecting a body to a wheel support member in such a way as to have a closed sectional structure, and connecting the inner end of an upper arm to the body via a plurality of bushes positioned along the lengthwise direction of the body. CONSTITUTION:A swing arm 12 in a rear suspension 10 is formed to have a hollow box type closed sectional structure, and the front end 12a of the swing arm 12 is axially connected to a body frame 16, while the rear end 12b thereof axially connected to the wheel carrier 11 of a rear wheel 2, respectively. Also, an upper arm 13 forms a passage hole of a damper 17, while the outer end 13b of the arm 13 is supported on the upper end of the wheel carrier 11 and the inner end 13c thereof supported on a sub-frame 18 respectively via a support mechanism 19 having a plurality of elastic bushes and the like. Furthermore, a lower arm 14 has the outer end 14a supported on the lower end of the wheel carrier 11 and the side end 14b thereof on the sub-frame 18 respectively via the elastic bushes.

    • PURPOSE:To improve traveling stability in an independent type rear suspension by pivotally installing lateral links in positions separated from the pivotally installed point of a swing arm means to a vehicle body which are not aligned in a plane perpendicular to a body longitudinal direction while in specific relative positions to one another. CONSTITUTION:A wheel supporting member 12 is installed on the end part in a body longitudinal direction of a swing arm 18 which is pivotally installed to a vehicle body with a bolt 38 form a swing arm means. And, a first lateral link 22 in installed on the upper part and the front of the rotation center of a wheel 10, a second lateral link 24 is installed on the lower part and the rear of the linked point of the first lateral link 22, and a third lateral link 20 is installed in the front position of the second lateral link 24, with respect to the wheel supporting member 12, while preventing the three installing points from being positioned in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body. Also, a buffering device 26 is positioned in the rear of the first lateral link 22. Thereby, traveling stability can be improved.

    • PURPOSE:To check a variation in a toe-in angle at the time of rearward follow-up of a wheel, by molding a trailing arm as a rigid body for a longitudinal direction, while connecting two pieces among plural lateral links to end parts in front and in the rear of the said arm, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A rear suspension consists of a trailing arm 1, whose front end is pivotally attached to a car body via a bush 18, supporting a wheel 16 at the rear end side free of rotation, and to be set up in a longitudinal direction of the car body, and plural lateral links 21-41 whose one end is connected to the car body and the other end to the arm 1 respectively, and to be set up laterally of the car body. In the mentioned above, the arm 1 is molded as a rigid body for a longitudinal direction, and the first lateral link 21 and the third lateral link 41 are connected each to both ends in front and in the rear of this arm 1. With this constitution, a longitudinal span between respective pivoting points A and C of both these links 21 and 41 to the arm 1 comes to the maximum so that even at the time of rearward follow-up of the wheel 16, the span comes to constancy.

    • PURPOSE:To secure an extent of sufficient damping force as well as to decrease damper reaction and each link stress, by connecting a lower part of a damper to a lateral link to be connected to a rear lower part of a trailing arm, while setting up this lateral link in a position more frontward than the damper. CONSTITUTION:A rear suspension consists of a trailing arm 1, being pivotally attached to a car body at the front end side, supporting a wheel 16 at the rear end side, and to be set up in a longitudinal direction of the car body, and plural lateral links 21-41 whose one end is connected to the car body and the other side to the arm 1 respectively, and to be set up sidelong of the body plus a damper 51 to be set up between the car body and the wheel 16. At the abovementioned, a lower part of the damper 51 is pivotally attached to a third link 41 among these links 21-41, making an arm side pivoting point C the lowest position. And, the second link 31 to be connected to a rear upper part of the arm 1 is set up more frontward than damper 51. With this constitution, not only a damper stroke is secured but also link stress is reducible.
