    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load in processing for detecting a recording medium remaining in the image forming device.SOLUTION: The image forming device (printer 1) includes sensors (printing start sensor 62, paper sheet ejection sensor 63) for detecting the recording medium (recording paper sheet 10) respectively on an upstream side and a downstream side of an image formation on the recording medium, in a conveying route 50 of the recording medium. A rewriting means (flag rewriting part 87) rewrites ON/OFF of a storage means (recording paper sheet detection flag 681 provided in a nonvolatile memory 68), based on detection results from the sensors 62, 63, and changes a rewriting cycle, to omit the rewriting not required for detecting the recording medium remaining in the conveying route 50 between the sensors 62, 63, based on a relation between inter-detection-position conveyance distance β of the sensors 62, 63, and a conveying-directional dimension L of the recording medium, or an inter-paper-sheet distance α when the recording medium is conveyed continuously.
