    • PURPOSE:To prevent generation of flow in picture image, to improve the quality of the image, and to stabilize the characteristics of a photosensitive body by forming a surface layer comprising optional amorphous material layers having a smoothened edge part where free bonds are bonded primarily to H atoms. CONSTITUTION:An uppermost surface 38 of a photosensitive body 34 consisting of plural amorphous material layers 36-38 is smoothened by polishing. Thus, the surface roughness of the photosensitive body 34 is improved remarkably, and the surface area of the photosensitive body 34 is reduced substantially. The absolute amt. of product produced by Corona discharge is also reduced, and removal of the product produced by the Corona discharge is facilitated, so deterioration of the surface resistance due to long time use is prevented. Moreover, exposure of the free bonds on a surface protecting layer 38 due to polishing is also avoided because the free bonds are bonded to H atoms. by calcination. By this constitution, the characteristics of the photosensitive body are stabilized, generation of flow in the image is prevented, and the quality of image is improved.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent a gas and/or a suspended matter from being attached on an image supporting body and to prevent picture quality from being deteriorated by providing a transmission part which drops the gas and/or the suspended matter downward on the sealed case of corona discharger. CONSTITUTION:In spite of the fact that the gas and/or the suspended matter such as zone, etc., is generated in the periphery of a photosensitive material 26 by the operation of a main charger 27 that is the corona discharger, those gas and/or suspended matter drop in the direction of the bottom plane of a cabinet 24. And even in a pretransfer static eliminator 31, a transfer electrifier 32, a peeling static eliminator 33, a pre-cleaning static eliminator 34, the gas and/or the suspended matter drops rapidly in the direction of a fan 40 on the bottom plane of the enclosure 24 via a metallic mesh 38, and is ejected outside the cabinet. Therefore, the photosensitive material 26 can be prevented from being exposed in the gas and/or the suspended matter staying in the sealed case, thereby, it is prevented from being attached on the photosensitive material. In such a way, it is possible to prevent an image from being run and to obtain a sharp image even when a device is used for a long time, and the service life of the photosensitive material can be extended.
