    • PURPOSE:To bring a developing roller in contact with a photosensitive body with appropriate pressure by making the developing roller to press and contact the photosensitive body with prescribed pressure by means of a developing unit pressing means and a developing unit float preventing means. CONSTITUTION:A main body case 21 of a developing unit 17 is loaded on three rollers 28 which are provided at the base wall part of in image forming unit case 18 freely rotatably, and is pressed with prescribed energizing power by a coil spring 31 from the rear edge side of the roller 28 in the direction of a holder unit 16 side. Further, two coil springs 32 are fitted respectively so as to project toward the developing unit 17, and has the function to push the developing unit 17 into the lower side with a prescribed pressure. Thus, by the coil spring 31 and 32, a developing roller 22 can be pressed to a photosensitive body 4 with an appropriate contact pressure, and a good contact developing action can be always obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of a toner film on the peripheral surface of a toner carrying body and stabilize the picture quality, by installing a mechanism which intermittently contacts a tip of a press member pressing the surface of the toner carrying body with the surface of the toner carrying body. CONSTITUTION:When a developing process is repeated and a prescribed number of copies are made, a driving control means 8d of a blade 8 drives and displaces a connected cam 8b. When the cam 8b is displaced, the blade 8 presses the surface of a toner carrying body 4 and controls the thickness of toner to a prescribed value and at the sme time, is pulled by the elastic force of a spring 8c from the thickness controlling position where the blade 8 is charged with electricity by friction. At this position, the tip section 8f of the blade 8 contacts with the surface of an image carrying body 4 and compulsorily scrapes down toner 6 firmly adhering to the surface of the carrying body 4. When the cleaning operation time of a set operation pattern has passed, the blade 8 returns to the position of the developing period. In this way, occurrence of a toner film is prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To form a developer carrier forming uniform and a fine picture by making a conductive supporting element hold many minute conductive particles covered with specific insulating coat (thickness and inherent volume resistivity) at mutually insulated state. CONSTITUTION:Conductive particles (e.g. aluminium particles having about 10- 500mu grain size) are coated with resin having 10 OMEGA.cm or more inherent volume resistivity at 0.5mu-5mm. thickness. Namely, a dielectric layer 2a is formed on a conductive supporting element 1 consisting of a nonmagnetic substance, dielectric adhesives is applied to the dielectric layer 2a, and before the adhesives layer 5 is dried, said resin-coated conductive particles 6a are sprayed on the layer 5. Subsequently, a heat-contracting tube 20 is applied to the particles 6a to contract and press the particles 6a, arrange the array state and from an almost uniform particle layer 6. After applying the 2nd adhesives layer 9 to the particle layer 6, the surface is ground and a part of the conductive particles is exposed to form the developer carrier.

    • PURPOSE:To reproduce a contact print and a line image adequately by forming a dielectric layer over the surface of a developing electrode, i.e. sleeve and providing an insulated electrode which is divided finely thereupon. CONSTITUTION:On the surface of a dielectric supporting body 12 made of stainless steel which houses a magnet 11 having numbers of, e.g. eight alternate poles N and S, an epoxy resin layer 13 with an about 300mum thickness is formed by powder coating as a dielectric layer. To the surface of the dielectric layer, spheroidized copper 14 is adhered with an epoxy adhesive. The spheroidized copper 14 forms a float electrode after the adherence of the spheroidized copper, the outer circumference surface of the dielectric layer 13 is polished to form the exposed surface of the spheroidized copper linearly in a plane shape. Respective electrodes of the spheroidized copper are insulated electrically from one another and a magnetic blade 18 for discharging is arranged in contact with the external circumferential surface of the dielectric layer 13.
