SOLUTION: This rotary valve 16 is comprised of an inner valve member 12 integrally formed with an input shaft 2 and an outer valve member 14 integrally formed with an output shaft 4. On the peripheral surface of the internal valve member 12, a supplying groove 12a into which operating oil from an oil pump P is induced and a return flow groove 12b which returns the operating oil to a tank T are circumferencially formed alternately. On the inner face of the outer valve member 14, a suplying- and a draining-grooves 14a and 14b are circumferencially formed at regular intervals. Both ends of the return flow groove 12b of the inner valve member 12 are elongated to the axial direction so as to communicate with a tank port T through annular grooves 14i and 14k formed on the outer valve member 14, radial hole 14j, and so on. Further, the bottom surface of the return flow groove 12b formed on the inner valve member 12 is shaped so that a plurality of arcs of the same radius R may be seriated.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent tire leakage of oil from the input cylinder of a hydraulic booster. SOLUTION: A hydraulic booster includes an input piston 12 fitted to be freely slid in an input cylinder 14 formed in a housing 6 and an operating rod 22 connected to the input piston 12 so as to be rotated relatively and moved back and forth by the operation of a brake pedal. The outer periphery of a connected section between the input piston 12 and the operating rod 22 is covered with a guard member 9 made of a flexible material. Thus, when the operating rod 22 makes a stroke, the rod 22 is inclined against the input piston 12 and thus friction particles may occur because of the twisting of the connected section between these, but since the dropping of these friction particles into the input cylinder 14 is prevented, the damaging of the inner surface of the cylinder 14 is prevented. Also, direct clashing of the operating rod 22 with the opening part of the housing 6 is prevented.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify stroke adjustment for an exhaust gas recirculation valve. SOLUTION: An exhaust gas recirculation valve is provided with a seat valve 2 opening and closing according to the advance and retreat of a valve shaft 16 and an actuator advancing and retreating the valve shaft 16. The valve shaft is energized by a spring 22 and is projected to the actuator side. The actuator is provided with a housing 24, sleeve piston 26 and a center piston 30 capable of relative motion of a given value, and the center piston 30 is energized in the direction of the valve shaft 16 by a spring 54. A seat member 60 is provided between the tip of the valve shaft and the abutting face of the center piston. The projection amount L10 from the end face 6a of a housing as a unit of the seat valve and the distance L20 between the end face 6a of a housing 6 as a unit of the actuator and abutting face of the center piston are measured. From the actual value and the set stroke L1 , the thickness of the seat member is calculated using the flowing equation: L20 -L10 +L1 .

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To positively apply the brake while supplemental braking force is being applied when it is judged that braking force is short, and furthermore try to simplify its system. SOLUTION: ABS control is executed by controlling an ABS controlling modulator 12, and concurrently TRC control is executed by setting a relief selection valve at a position II, and also controlling a TRC control means 18. Besides, braking fluid is fed to a TRC controlling cylinder 15 and a braking force supplement control cylinder 21 by setting both a TRC control valve 14 and a braking force supplemental control valve 20 at the position II, setting the relief selection valve 22 at a position I, and by, driving a TRC controlling pump 13. Fluid pressure developed by both the cylinders 15 and 21 is fed to the respective cylinders of front and rear wheels in addition to the fluid pressure of a master cylinder, and braking fluid pressure is thereby increased, so that braking force supplemental control is executed. In this case, braking fluid pressure is continuously and smoothly increased by a supplemental pressure adjusting valve 17.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a self-temperature-control type glow plug capable of being comparatively easily manufactured with high reliability and being made to exert a function as a fast heating type and an overshooting characteristic. SOLUTION: This glow plug is provided with a first resistor 10 functioning as a heating body, a second resistor 11 connected to one end thereof in series and made of a material having a positive temperature coefficient of resistance greater than that of the first resistor and a sheath 2 covering the first and second resistors 10, 11 by embedding the resistors in a heat-resisting insulating material powder 6. The sheath 2 is constituted of a small diameter portion 2a having a small sheath diameter for embedding the first resistor 10, a large diameter portion 2b having a large sheath diameter for embedding the second resistor 11 and a tapered portion 2c provided between the small diameter portion 2a and the large diameter portion 2b. The two resistors 10, 11 are connected in an overlapped manner in a wire diameter direction so as to reduce electric resistance and this connecting portion 12 is located to a position corresponding to the tapered portion of the sheath.

Consequently, as a flow rate of working liquid flowing in a PS passage 31 is limited, hydraulic pressure is generated on the upstream side of the flow control valve 32, and this hydraulic pressure is accumulated in an accumulator 11 for emergency. Consequently, the hydraulic pressure of the accumulator 11 for emergency rises. Accordingly, for a specified period of time after the ignition switch 34 is switched on, the hydraulic pressure is accumulated in the accumulator 11 for emergency even if brake operation and steering operation are not carried out. Consequently, it is possible to certainly accumulate further sufficient hydraulic pressure in the accumulator 11 for emergency.
