摘要：構造物（１）は、基本的にボックス断面の複数の押出型部材（１１〜３３，３７）を含むとともに直接に或いは継手部材（１９，２４）を用いて接続されるフレーム（２）を備える。上記フレーム（２）は、第１のタイプ（Ａ）の押出型材と第２のタイプ（Ｂ）の押出型材のみを備え、第１のタイプ（Ａ）の押出型材は、上壁（３）と外側壁（４）と内側壁（５）と底壁（６）とを有する。上壁（３）は、外側壁（４）を越えて突出する側方フィン（３ａ）を形成している。同様に、外側壁（４）は、底壁（６）を越えて下向きに突出する下方フィン（４ａ）を形成している。内側壁（５）と上記底壁（６）との少なくも一方から、上記上壁（３）の面よりも基本的に下に存在する平面内に、内側側方フィン（５ａ）が延伸している。第２のタイプ（Ｂ）の押出型材は、基本的に矩形断面をしていて、その壁の一つ（８）が延伸されて、両側から突出する二つの長手方向フィン（８ａ，８ｂ）が形成されている。第１のタイプ（Ａ）の押出型材は、フロントガラス開口部（１２）の側方支柱（１１）と、自動車の屋根の長手方向側方部材（１３）とを形成するために使用される。第２のタイプ（Ｂ）の押出型材は、残りの全てのフレーム（２）を形成するために使用される。
