    • PURPOSE:To obtain a wheel excellent in strength by welding the whole periphery of the joined bottom surfaces of two cups obtained when a circular stock is deep-drawn, edge-trimmed, edge-bent, then, the edge-trimmed end face is rounded, further the rimmed edge part is press-curled inside in the hollow and annular shape. CONSTITUTION:When the cup 1 is deep-drawn, then, the edge is cut, the edge- bent cup is mounted on a turning table, the cup is rotated pushing a piece 11 having a radial surface intruded into the edge 4'', the corner part of the edge 4'' is rounded into a smooth radial surface. After this R working, the edge is bent by 45 deg. and press-curled for curling the edge. Since the R working is performed after the edge-bending, the curling can be performed without giving flaws to the bearing surface 5 for the bead and the margin face 4 of a tire on the edge part of a rim side. By this method, the edge part of the rim is curled completely inside and an Al alloy wheel free from flaws, excellent in strength can be mass-produced by pressing.
