    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an induction heating cooking appliance capable of having a pan placed at a free position on a top plate, automatically displaying a display part near the pan, automatically maintaining heating efficiency even if the pan is moved on the top plate, and continuously carrying out comfortable cooking without jeopardizing convenience in operation. SOLUTION: An inverter 72 converts direct-current power from a converter 71 into high-frequency alternating current and supplies it to induction heating coils 4 uniformly arranged in dispersion and a resonating capacitor 75. A sensor 76 is provided at a center of the induction heating coils 4 or between the induction heating coils 4 themselves, and detects the pan 2 on the top plate 3. A control means 74 compares an output of the sensor 76 with a reference value, and decides on existence of the pan when the output of the sensor 76 goes beyond the reference value, and estimates the size of an arrangement position (a center position) and a size of an occupied area of the pan. The control means 74 displays an operating part 73 on the display part 5 with its center position in line with the center position of the pan based on the estimation result, and validates a function of the operating part 73.
