    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reproducing an image including the surface properties easily and efficiently on various sheet bodies by reading image information and surface properties from a document. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises an image reading section for reading image information and surface properties from a document and outputting image data and surface properties data, an image processing section including a recording image generating means for generating recording image data by performing specified image processing on the image data and a surface properties judging means for generating surface properties judgment data by judging the surface properties of the document from the surface properties data, and an image output section including a means for forming an image on a recording material based on the recording image data and a means for treating the surface of a sheet body based on the surface properties judgment data. A mode where the image reading section is any one of a CCD scanner or a CMOS sensor, a mode where the image reading section has an image reading mechanism and a surface properties reading mechanism, a mode where the image reading mechanism has a surface properties sensor, and the like, are preferable.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communications equipment for further improving convenience while maintaining cost performance characteristic of monochromatic communication equipment by enabling even the monochromatic communication equipment to receive color original data and further transferring the color original data to an output device, such as a display or a printer capable of conducting color output, connected to the equipment via a LAN.
      SOLUTION: It is discriminated by a data discriminating means 181 whether received data are color image data or monochromatic image data, and when the data discriminating means 181 discriminates that the received data are color image data, a color data transfer means 183 transfers the color image data to the other terminal equipment, with which color printing is enabled, and connected to the equipment via the LAN. The terminal equipment, to which the color image data are transferred, prints or outputs color images on a screen on the basis of these data. When the data discriminating means 181 discriminates that the received data are monochromatic image data, on the basis of the monochromatic image data, monochromatic images are printed similarly to an ordinary case.
