    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile apparatus with a simple circuit configuration that is connected to an external telephone and includes a data access apparatus in the form of a semiconductor device, the facsimile apparatus detecting the on-hook/off-hook state of the external telephone and ringing the external telephone after a public line is closed.
      SOLUTION: The facsimile apparatus includes: a power circuit for output of a calling signal and supplying voltage to the external telephone; a relay for switching between a first state in which the external telephone is connected to the power circuit and a second state in which the external telephone is connected to a public line; a detection unit for detecting a signal level of a signal line between the power circuit and the relay; and a control unit for issuing output instructions of the calling signal to the power circuit on the basis of the contents of a signal received by a data processing unit and detection results obtained by the detection unit when the relay is in the first state.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem, wherein there are cases where detection of a CNG signal is not performed promptly, even though, in general, it is determined as being facsimile communication by transmitting the CNG signal at a calling-side and receiving the CNG signal, at a called side as a method for identifying whether facsimile communication through a communication terminal apparatus is for the purpose of speech or for facsimile communication.
      SOLUTION: The communication terminal apparatus includes: a pseudo-ring back tone (RBT) generator 19 which generates a pseudo RBT to be transmitted to a calling party in response to an incoming call; a pseudo ring generator 16 which generates a pseudo ring to be sounded in response to an incoming call; and a main controller 2 for controlling the pseudo RBT generator 19 and the pseudo ring generator 16. ON/OFF-time information is included which is repeated, in a manner of a term of the RBT by country. When the OFF-time of the RBT, in a country where an apparatus body is installed is less than a predetermined OFF-time, the OFF-time of pseudo-RBT is set to a predetermined OFF-time and transmitted.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide facsimile equipment capable of surely detecting a tone signal and a ring signal, respectively, by switching a detection mode at a proper timing.
      SOLUTION: It is confirmed whether the operation state of facsimile equipment is on a user-mode standby or not (S2) after power on (S1). When it is determined that the facsimile equipment is on the user-mode standby (S2:Yes), a detection mode of a semiconductorized DAA is set to a ring signal detection mode (S3), so that a ring signal transmitted from an exchange can be surely detected and a ringing tone can be sounded in real time in response to the ring signal from the exchange. For example, when switching to a maintenance mode is indicated (S5:Yes), the detection mode of the semiconductorized DAA is set to a tone signal detection mode, so that a tone signal from a line can be surely detected.
