    • PURPOSE:To apply a high reverse bias voltage to a photodetector irrespective of a power source voltage by providing a switching circuit which is opened at the time of light reception and an inductor. CONSTITUTION:By the output of an oscillating circuit 3, a light emitting diode 9 is driven through inverters 7, 8, and lighting is executed intermittently. When the output of the oscillating circuit 3 is in an H level, a transistor TR2 for constituting a switching circuit is conducted, and a power source si supplied through an inductor L and a resistor R2 from the power source. When the output of the oscillating circuit 3 goes to an L level, the transistor TR2 is turned off, therefore, the current of the inductor L is interrupted suddenly and counter electromotive force is generated, and the counter electromotive force is given to a photodiode 5 of the light receiving circuit 4. In such a manner, a reverse bias voltage exceeding a power supply voltage can be applied easily to the photodetector, and the saturation of the light receiving circuit caused by a DC light such as a solar light can be prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To certainly operate mutual interference preventing function by directly inputting the signal from other switch to the light detection means of a photoelectric switch. CONSTITUTION:A photoelectric switch equipped with mutual interference preventing function contains the first and second switch circuits and the respective switch circuits emit pulse lights to the outside corresponding to the output signal of an oscillation circuit to receive said lights and the pulse cycle of the oscillation circuit is changed by a control circuit responding to a light detection signal immediately before the oscillation circuit generates a pulse. A means transmitting the drive state of the light emitting means of the first switch circuit is provided to the light detection means of the second switch circuit. Herein, the floodlight projector of one photoelectric switch 11 emits a floodlight signal from a window 21 to allow the same to be incident to the window 52 of the other photoelectric switch 11 and this light is reflected by mirror surfaces 53, 54 to be incident to the photodetector 5 of the other photoelectric switch 11. As mentioned above, by directly inputting the signal from the other switch to the light detection means of the photoelectric switch, mutual interference preventing function can be certainly operated.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to keep a light reception amount unchanged instead of the changes of luminous efficacy, temperature characteristic and transmission factor by controlling the driving level of a light projection element based on the output of a light reception element. CONSTITUTION:The light of a light projection element 3 is led to a measuring range by an optical fiber 4 for light projection and an optical fiber 11 for measurement and is radiated to the measuring range from the end of the optical fiber 4 for light projection. Also the optical fiber 11 for measurement is provided in parallel to an optical fiber 6 for light reception and is led to a second light reception element 12 inside the main body of a photoelectric switch. And the light projection level of the light projection element 3 is controlled so that the light reception amount of the second light reception element 12 may be constant. Accordingly, it is possible to change the driving level of the light projection element 3 to keep the light reception amount always constant even when the luminous efficacy of the light projection element 3 is deteriorated or the temperature characteristics of light projection and reception elements are deteriorated or when the light reception amount is changed because of the curved state of the optical fiber for light projection and reception or the deterioration of the transmission factor.

    • PURPOSE:To make a special adjusting work unnecessary by providing a current amplifying means, a peak value holding means, and a comparing means which outputs a binarization signal in a photodetecting circuit of a photoencoder. CONSTITUTION:When passing a slit disc (omitted in the figure) to strike a photodiode, the light from an LED 1 tries to flow a current I to the negative terminal of the first operational amplifier 3. However, the current I is flowed to an output terminal P through a resistance R2 because the input impedance of the operational amplifier 3 is sufficiently high. At this time, the voltage in the output terminal P of the first operational amplifier 3 is made lower than a reference voltage Vr by a voltage drop P2I of the resistance R2, and the output of the operational amplifier 3 becomes a waveform (a) approximating a sine wave. Since resistances R3 and R4 have the same value, the input of the positive terminal of the second operational amplifier 5 has a half amplitude of the output of the operational amplifier 3 and is as shown by a broken line (b). In a peak value holding circuit 8, the second operational amplifier 5 and a diode 6 constitute a buffer, and the buffer holds the negative peak value of the amplitude at a connection point A, and this value [indicated by a broken line (c)] appears at a connection point B.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily set sensitivity by setting a threshold, based on a photodetecting level of a prescribed period after the time point of switching from a sensitivity setting mode to another mode, thus facilitating operation in adjusting sensitivity. SOLUTION: Upon switching to an operation mode, a flood pulse is outputted by a first duty ratio equal to the operation mode to drive a flood element 3. Then, first and second temporary thresholds Vth1 and Vth2 are set to the levels of the upper/lower prescribed values of an obtained photodetecting level. Next, the output of the flood pulse of the first duty ratio is continued to check whether the photodetective output of not smaller than the value Vth1 or the photodetective output of not larger than the value Vth2 can be obtained from a photodetective circuit 5. In the case of switching a mode switching switch from TEACH to RUN in a state of making a detecting object to approach, as the photodetecting level is deteriorated to be not larger than the value Vth2 when the object moves out from a detecting area, Vth2 is made a threshold. In the case of switching similarly under the condition where the object does not approach in a similar procedure, Vth1 is made a true threshold Vth.

    • PURPOSE: To easily adjust the sensitivity of a photoelectric sensor without using such a switch circuit that switches the projection current and the amplification degree by using a means that changes the time width when the coincidence is secured between the projection and light receiving signals and can adjust the sensitivity of the photoelectric sensor. CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer 1 consists of a CPU, a memory which stores the programs and data, and an input/output interface. The projection signal of the microcomputer 1 is supplied to a projection circuit 2. Then a projection element 3 is driven by the circuit 2 to emit light on an object detection area, and a light receiving element 4 outputs the output of a light receiving circuit 5 via a synchronous circuit 6. An object is decided on the level of the output that passes through the circuit 6. Furthermore, a sensitivity input part 9 is connected to the microcomputer 1 to input the sensitivity of the photoelectric sensor. Then the time width when the coincidence is secured between the projection and synchronizing signals is varied based on the input signal supplied from the part 9. Thus, the sensitivity of the photoelectric sensor can be adjusted.
