      SOLUTION: An inner pot cover 2 is attached and fixed inside a body 1 of the rice cooker, and a heating coil 3 for electromagnetic heating is disposed on the outer wall of the inner pot cover 2. The inner pot 5 is detachably mounted to the inside of the inner pot cover 2. A non-contact temperature sensor 13 is disposed on an outer lid 9. The temperature sensor detects the surface temperature of a cooked object when the cooked object is present within the inner pot 5, and detects the inner surface temperature of the inner pot 5 when no cooked object is present within the inner pot 5.

In the boiling step of rice cooking, when the body heater 62 performs a heating operation by an instruction from a board cover 12, since the tubular actuator 60 is heated by the body heater 62 and the length is shortened, the diameter of the cylinder of the inner pot housing part 2 is reduced as well and the inner pot housing part 2 is tightly attached to the inner pot 20. Thus, the inner pot 20 is efficiently heated by an induction heating coil 5 which is a main heating part and the body heater 62, and the rice is cooked in a short time.
