The print head 14 is an ink jet head provided with a plurality of ink ejection openings across the entire width of recording area in the sub-scanning direction on the recording medium 4 having a smaller size than the horizontal plane 18a.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device of an electrophotographic system by which development is executed by using liquid developer where at least toner particles and a charging control agent to impart an electric charge to the toner particles are dispersed in carrier liquid, where one or two or more specified parts brought into contact with the liquid developer are cleaned and cleaning is economically and often executed. SOLUTION: This image forming device of the electrophotographic system developing an electrostatic latent image formed on a photoreceptor 1 by using the liquid developer D is provided with a cleaning device 40 supplying one or two or more specified parts with cleaning liquid so as to clean one or two or more specified parts brought into contact with the liquid developer D such as a developing unit 4, a developer supply tube 402, a developer turn-back tube 403 and a circulation pump 404 and also guiding the cleaning liquid to a developer tank 401, and the carrier liquid C and (or) charging control agent liquid E are used as the cleaning liquid at the cleaning device 40.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably obtain a satisfactory image by controlling, based on a detected toner-image-density by an optical reflection-density-detection means, so that a charge-control agent in liquid developer is maintained at a proper concentration. SOLUTION: From the light emission part 6a of the reflection-type photosensor 6, light irradiates a toner image for optical reflection-density- detection formed on a photoreceptor 1, and the reflected light from the toner image is received by a light receiving part 6b. Thus, the density of the toner image on the photoreceptor 1 is detected. A control part CONT compares a given reflection-density reference value (a given reference voltage) and the detection value (output voltage) of the sensor 6. When the detection value is lower than the given reference value, it judges that the density of toner image used for the density detection is higher than a proper density. Accordingly it transmits a signal to a charge-control-agent supply device 47 and make the device 47 supply the charge control agent to the liquid developer D. On the other hand, when the detection value of the sensor 6 is higher than the specific reference value, liquid carrier is supplied to the liquid developer D from the liquid-carrier supply device 48.

A carrier solution C2 and the toner image T held on the drum reach a carrier removing device 6a provided in an area P3. The carrier solution C2 is removed to the range of 0.05-0.3 mg/cm , preferably, 0.05-0.2 mg/cm to form a residual carrier solution C3. The carrier solution C3 and the toner image T are transferred to a secondary transfer area P2 according to the a2-directional rotation of the intermediate transfer drum 10, attracted to a secondary transfer roller 14, and transferred onto a recording paper S.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid developing device which is capable of reducing the occurrence of a defect in an image such as an image memory and a streaky noise by making the removal of toner remaining after development, stuck on a developing roller more efficient than that in a conventional device, in a liquid developing device for developing a latent image, so as to make it a visible toner image by supplying a liquid developer including the toner to an electrostatic latent image formed on an electrostatic latent image carrier, with a rotationally driven developing roller. SOLUTION: The liquid developing device 4 is for supplying the liquid developer D including the toner to the electrostatic latent image formed on the electrostatic latent image carrier 1 by the rotationally driven developing roller 41 and developing the latent image, to make it the visible toner image. A brush roller 42 is arranged in contact with the developing roller 41, at a position P3 nearer to the downstream side than an electrostatic latent image developing region P1, in the rotational direction a2 of the roller 41. Then, the brush roller 42 is rotationally driven so that in its contact region with the developing roller 41, the moving directions of the outer peripheries of both these rollers are opposite.
