    • PURPOSE:To prevent stereo images from being unnatural by cutting image parts at the right edge part of an image for left view point and the left edge part of an image for right view point just by a component corresponding to the parallax of respective images for left and right view points. CONSTITUTION:The data of respective images for-left and right view points picked up by a video camera 6 are supplied to a data processor 7, data processing is respectively performed to those data, and those processed data LID and RID of respective images for left and right view points are supplied from a microcomputer 5 to an image synthesizer 1 later. Then, at the microcomputer 5, the images at the right edge part of the image for left view point and the left edge part of the image for right view point are cut off corresponding to the parallax between the images for both the view points. Namely, since image processing is performed so that the image data at that part can be blank, only the image for left view point or right view point is prevented from existing at the respective left and right edge parts of a synthetic image displayed on a display screen.

    • PURPOSE:To remove a noise component by providing a nonlinear filter processing means whereby the value of a detection signal of a radar apparatus just before a change thereof is made to be held when the detection signal makes the change beyond a preset threshold value within a prescribed time. CONSTITUTION:A signal of a transmission frequency generated from an oscillator 1 is passed through a modulator 2, etc., and emitted from an antenna 5, and a reflected wave from an object is received by the antenna 5, converted into a digital signal as a radar detection signal and stored temporarily in a buffer memory 9. The digitized radar detection signal epsilon read out from the memory 9 is subjected to a nonlinear digital filter processing by an epsilon filter processing element 10. Since the processing element 10 is so designed as to apply an epsilon filter processing only to a part of the signal which changes to a large extent beyond a threshold value set beforehand, it makes the value just before the change be held for the part smaller than the threshold value. In this way, optimum removal of noise can be conducted without deteriorating the characteristic of the radar detection signal.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute measuring without being affected by the weather condition of rainfall or snowfall at all and to manufacture a device to be more inexpensive than the device of a conventional radar system by calculating a time difference between road information whose correlation is the largest between detected road information on a preceding vehicle and road information on a self-vehicle and calculating a vehicle disance from the time difference. SOLUTION: A suspension stroke sensor 5 detecting road information SD1 during the travel of a self-vehicle, a transmitter 6 transmitting road information to a subsequent vehicle and an antenna 7 are installed in a preceding vehicle. An antenna 11 receiving road information transmitted from the preceding vehicle, a receiver 12 and a suspension stroke sensor 17 detecting road information SD2 of the self-vehicle are installed in the subsequent vehicle. A time difference computing element 21 calculating a time difference between road information whose correlation is the highest between road information of the preceding vehicle and road information of the self-vehicle and a distance difference computing element 22 calculating a vehicle distance from the time difference outputted from the time difference computing element 21 are installed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar apparatus for avoiding mistakes in the position of an object to be detected, e.g. due to sensitivity degradation and failure in transmitting/receiving means, etc., and various problems arising from the mistakes, by detecting malfunction of a radar device in a normal running state of a vehicle. SOLUTION: This radar apparatus 1 is constructed by providing a distance detection means 51a for detecting a vehicle moved distance, and a malfunction detection means 51b for detecting malfunction of a radar device when an object to be detected is not detected within a preset moved distance wherein the moved distance is detected by the distance detection means 51a in the radar device including a radar beam transmitting means 30, a receiving means 40, and a processor 50 for detecting a position of the object to be detected from a transmitted signal and a received signal. Also, by detecting the malfunction for each combination constituting a multi-beam, detected data of the combination whose malfunction is detected is excluded, so that the position of the object to be detected is computed.
