    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize a floatation characteristic of a slider by suppressing the amount of curvature of the slider within an allowable range even due to temperature change about a magnetic head assembly. SOLUTION: In this magnetic head assembly in which the slider 3 is fixed onto a gimbal spring 1 with an adhesive 8, in the first form, the gimbal spring 1 is supported integrally with a load beam 2 by a beam 6, thin film wiring pattern 12 on the load beam 2 is guided to the surface of the gimbal spring 1 through the beam 6, the point part of the thin film wiring pattern 12 is made to be a connection terminal 13 for an input-output terminal of a magnetic head provided at a slider end part, and a plurality of thin film dummy patterns 15 that are as high as the wiring pattern 12 are provided at an application position of the adhesive on the gimbal 1 and are stuck onto the gimbal spring 1 without tilting the slider. In the second form, the cured Young's modulus of the adhesive 8 is made equal to or less than about 1/13000 of that of material of the slider or the gimbal spring 1, and in a third form, the Young's modulus of the slider is almost equal to that of the gimbal spring 1.

    • PURPOSE:To increase the rigidity without increasing the equivalent mass by providing a rib which has an approximately triangular aperture in the center and is folded in parts along both sides and parts along the base part side and two oblique sides of a head supporting body of the aperture. CONSTITUTION:A pair of outer rib parts 11 and 12 are folded upward along both sides of a rigid beam part 10 throughout overall length of this part 10, and an isosceles trapezoidal aperture 13 has a bottom 13a on the side of a spring part 9 and is bilaterally symmetrical with respect to a center line 14 of the rigid beam part 10. Inner ribs 15 and 16 are folded upward along oblique sides 13c and 13d on both sides of the aperture 13, and an inner rib part 17 is folded upward along the bottom 13a of the aperture 13. Thus, the rigidity in the lengthwise direction is increased, and the rigidity of parts of less rigidity in the breadthwise direction is increased, and the weight is reduced by the aperture, and the variance of the extent of floating of a head is suppressed.
