    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of more efficiently performing atomization of a spray when fuel is injected from a fuel injection nozzle to a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine.
      SOLUTION: A plurality of nozzle holes 6 are concentrically provided in a nozzle body 2, and are formed so as to be inclined outwardly from an inlet side toward an outlet side with respect to a central axis 2b of the nozzle body 2. Before fuel flowing inside the nozzle body 2 flows into the respective nozzle holes 6 during fuel injection, the fuel advances to the direction toward the central axis 2b in a lateral flow part 8 once, and therefore, the advancing direction of the fuel is largely changed when the fuel flows into the respective nozzle holes 6. In this fuel injection nozzle 1, the length of the inner wall of the nozzle hole 6 inside a pitch circle 11 is set longer than the length of the inner wall outside the pitch circle 11.

Hydrogen-based fuel is supplied to a reformer 18 in the closed space 32 and the hydrogen-based fuel causes reforming reaction by the residual heat of the reformer 18, whereby hydrogen becomes present in the closed space 32. When starting the hydrogen generating apparatus 10, the reformer 18 is heated to the combustion temperature of hydrogen or the combustion temperature of the hydrogen-based fuel. From this state, oxygen is made to flow therein by opening the first shutoff valve 26 and the second shutoff valve 28 to burn the hydrogen or hydrogen-based fuel. The reforming catalyst in the reformer 18 is rapidly heated to its activation temperature by heat generated by the combustion reaction of the hydrogen or hydrogen-based fuel.
