    • PURPOSE:To reduce an eddy current loss and local overheating of a winding by providing a through hole in a gap spacer to make a center leg of an E-shape core pass through. CONSTITUTION:A core of a leakage transformer is composed of a pair of E- shape cores 4A, 4B, a gap spacer 8 held between them and a path-core 7 which is also held between a pair of E-shape cores and protrudes from the center leg toward the side legs. A through-hole 8a is formed in the gap spacer 8 to make the center leg 2 of one E-shape core 4B pass through and for that purpose that center leg 2 is made somewhat longer and as a result the core is so composed that there is no gap in the center leg. A high frequency leakage transformer made by winding the primary winding and the secondary winding on the core composed as above has reduced leakage flux penetrating the windings so that it has a reduced eddy current loss and local overheating.
