摘要： A non-woven textile may be formed from a plurality of thermoplastic polymer filaments. The non-woven textile may have a first region and a second region, with the filaments of the first region being fused to a greater degree than the filaments of the second region. A variety of products, including apparel (e.g., shirts, pants, footwear), may incorporate the non-woven textile. In some of these products, the non-woven textile may be joined with another textile element to form a seam. More particularly, an edge area of the non- woven textile may be heatbonded with an edge area of the other textile element at the seam. In other products, the non-woven textile may be joined with another component, whether a textile or a non-textile.

The step of heating and compressing comprises a step of disposing the member and the nonwoven fabric between platens of a press.

CONSTITUTION:A first machining device 3 includes a pattern comprising ridges 5 [in the drawing the ridges 5 are formed along the peripheries of a letter (B)] on the plane 3a, each of the ridges 5 having an approximately perpendicular surface 5a, a first slant surface 5b that constitutes a cutting edge at the tip of the surface 5a, and a second slant surface 5c that has an obtuse angle with the surface 5b. A second maching device 5 has planes that can be opposite to the ridges 5. A sheetlike substrate WS and a decorative sheet WA that are placed one above the other are placed between the first and second machining devices 3, 5 with the decorative sheet WA on the first machining device 3. While they are pressed, ultrasonic waves are applied to at least one of the machining devices 3, 4 to weld them at a WX section and to melt only the decorative sheet WA at a WY section to be cut.
