CONSTITUTION:High voltage single phase AC power is fed from a feeder 100 through a panthograph 1 and a circuit breaker 2 to the primary winding 31 of a main transformer 3 then the power is fed back through a wheel 4 to a rail 400. Outputs from the secondary windings 32, 33 of the main transformer 3 are fed to series connected rectifiers 51, 52 thus constituting a DC power source. Two sets of motor group comprising a plurality of series connected DC series motors 81-84, 91-94 are connected through series/parallel switches SW1, SW2 to the DC output side. When the motors are started, the switches SW1, SW2 are connected to the side S so as to connected the motor groups in series and when the motors reach to a predetermined speed, the switches SW1, SW2 are connected to the side P so as to connect the motor groups in parallel.

CONSTITUTION:AC motors 151-154 are connected through single-phase bridges 71, 72 constituted with reverse-block self-extinction semi-conductor switch elements and PWM control VVVF inverters 111, 112 to the secondary windings 41, 42 of a main transformer 4. When powering operation is made, a powering/ regenerative brake switch 9 is switched to P, P side and the single-phase bridges 71, 72 perform forward conversion operation as separately excited converters. When regenerative brake operation is made, the powering/regenerative brake switch 9 is switched to B, B side so that the single-phase bridges 71, 72 perform reverse conversion operation and the commutation margin angle of the reverse- block self-extinction semi-conductor switch element goes to zero through self- extincting function.

By an adder ADD1, the average value signal V37 and constant-frequency reference chopping wave signal V38 are added to each other, and the polarity of the sum of both the input signals is inverted, and the output of the signal Va1 of the same polarity component only as that of the signal V38 is generated. Besides, by an adder ADD2, the signals V37 and Va1 are added to each other, and the output of signal Va2 is generated. Then, by a comparator 35, current command V34 according to a deviation between a voltage setting value and generator output voltage Vg is compared with the signal Va2, and the output of ON/OFF-control signal is directed to a field current controlling field chopper 23.

    • PURPOSE:To widen an interval between substations substantially by increasing electric voltage of a feeding line from a substation steeply up to one higher than voltage of an electric-car so as to drop it down by means of a semi-conductor DC-DC transducer which makes conversion possible to either the normal or reverse direction whereby feeding to the electric-car. CONSTITUTION:Electric power fed by a power system through each high voltage line 13 and 23 is conducted to a line 3 through each feeding substation 1 and 2 which is composed of each transformer 11 and 21 and each semi-conductor transducer 12 and 22 for feeding direct current to DC electric cars 61 through 63. In this type of a feeding system, a main feeding line 7 is separately provided whereby its voltage is made higher than electric-car voltage. And the feeding line 3 is made an auxiliary feeding line, semi-conductor DC-DC transducers 81 through 83 such as a chopper and the like which make conversion possible either to the normal or reverse direction, are provided between both of the feeding lines 3 and 7 at interval equivalent to a space between substations whereby voltage of the main feeding line 7 is stepped down to electric-car voltage by means of these transducers 81 through 83. And DC electric- cars 61 through 63 collect current from both an electric overhead line 4 connected with the feeding line 3 and a rail 5.

CONSTITUTION:When motors 7, 8 of a vehicle are connected through semiconductor converters 3, 5, 6 with a generator 2 coupled with an internal combustion engine 1, electric parts such as reactors and resistors having higher allowable temperature than a semiconductor element of the parts of the converters 3, 5, 6 are disposed in the same cooling system as that of the engine, and the elements are disposed in another cooling system. For example, GTO thyristors 11, 12 of semiconductor elements of inverters 5, 6, diodes 21, 22 412, 422, 511, 512, capacitors 411, 421 are disposed in the cooler of a system 200 with exclusive forcible cooling provided in the inverters 5, 6, and the remaining electric parts of the inverters 5, 6, i.e., reactors 31, 32 and resistors 412, 423, 512, 522 are disposed in an oil cooling system 100 of the cooler using oil of the engine 1 as coolant.
