The saturation is not executed in the stagnation vessel 5 and the emulsion temp. in the stagnation vessel 5 is preferably below the temp. right after the outflow from the mixer 2. The photographic additives are thus adsorbed to the silver halide particles uniformly between the particles, by which the production of the photographic emulsion having the excellent photographic performance, such as fogging and sensitivity, is made possible.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide the process for production of the silver halide emulsion contg. silver halide particles having low fogging, excellent graininess and high sensitivity. CONSTITUTION:This process for production consists in using the silver halide particulates formed in the presence of an oxidizing agent in the case of production of the silver halide particles by supplying the silver halide particulates in a part or the whole during the formation of the grown particles, thereby growing the desired silver halide particles. The oxidizing agent refers to an oxidizing agent having an effect of oxidizing the silver clusters generated in the process for forming the silver halide particles and ionizing these clusters. For example, the inorg. oxidizing agent includes oxygen acid salts, such as ozone, hydrogen peroxide and its addition product and peroxyacid salt, halogen elements, such as iodine and bromine, and thiosulfate, etc. The org. oxidizing agent includes quinones, such as p-quinones and org. peroxides. The amt. of the oxidizing agent to be added is >=10 mol and mol, more preferably >=10 mol and mol per 1mol silver halide in the stage at the end of the growth process.
