    • PURPOSE:To enhance interimage effect and to improve sharpness and graininess by incorporating at least one kind of specified compd. into a hydrophilic colloidal layer other than an auxiliary layer and a silver halide emulsion having specified performance into the auxiliary layer. CONSTITUTION:When at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer is formed on a substrate and one or more auxiliary layers are further formed on the outside of the emulsion layer positioned farthest from the substrate to obtain a photographic sensitive material, at least one kind of compd. represented by formula I is incorporated into at least one hydrophilic colloidal layer other than the auxiliary layers and a practically nonphotosensitive silver halide emulsion or a silver halide emulsion contg. internally fogged or surface fogged particles is incorporated into at least one of the auxiliary layers. In the formula I, R is straight chain or branched alkylene, alkenylene, aralkylene or arylene, Z is amino, ammonium or a hetero ring, X is H, an alkali metal atom, ammonium or a precursor convertible into H by alkali and n is 1 but n may be 0 when Z is a hetero ring and bonds to the oxadiazole ring. The compd. represented by the formula I extremely enhances interimage effect and the emulsion prevents a change of edge effect during development and can improve sharpness and graininess.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain color reversal images improved in color reproducibility by providing only the non-photosensitive hydrophilic colloidal layer between an emulsion layer which is so spectrally sensitized as to exist between the centroid sensitivity wavelengths of the respective spectral sensitivity distributions of a blue sensitive emulsion layer and a green sensitive emulsion layer and a red sensitive emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:The color photosensitive material has the emulsion layer (ICL) contg. the photosensitive silver halide particles which contain the compd. to release a development restrainer in a black and white development with substantially no contribution made to the formation of color forming dyestuff and are so spectrally sensitized as to position the centroid sensitivity wavelength of the spectral sensitivity distribution between the centroid sensitivity wavelengths of the respective spectral sensitivity distributions of the blue sensitive emulsion layer and the green sensitive emulsion layer. Only the non-photosensitive hydrophilic colloidal layer is, thereupon, provided between this emulsion layer and the red sensitive emulsion layer. Further, the emulsion particles are so spectrally sensitized as to position the centroid sensitivity wavelength of the spectral sensitivity distribution of the ICL between the centroid sensitivity wavelength of the respective spectral sensitivity distributions of the blue sensitive emulsion layer and the green sensitive emulsion layer. The improved color reproducibility is obtd. in this way.

Further, the swelling rate in distilled water is so determined as to attain >=1.2. The swelling rate refers to the value obtd. after the thickness of the film swellable in distilled water of room temp. is divided by the thickness of the dry film. The silver halide color photographic sensitive material which has excellent color reproducibility and has the bleaching rate of the level sufficient for practicable use is obtd. in this way.
