    • PURPOSE:To enable to abruptly brake a motor by providing a reversible chopper for supplying an armature current, and a chopper for supplying a field current, and supplying a field current throug the reversible chopper and a capacitor at power interruption time. CONSTITUTION:The armature 3 of a DC motor is connected through a four quadrant operation type chopper CH to a rectifying and smoothing circuit 1, and a field 4 is connected through a chopper which includes a transistor T5. The chopper CH is controlled through a speed regulator 11, a current regulator 12 and a pulse width regulator 13 and the transistor Tr5 is controlled through a field current regulator 15 and a pulse width regulator 16. The rotary energy of a motor is returned through the chopper CH to a smoothing condenser C at power interruption time, thereby enabling to supply the field current. Accordingly, the free running at the power interruption time can be prevented to abruptly brake the minimum time.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain accurate time limit of base-ON signals and applying period of reverse bias by determining the time limit of the base-ON signals and the applying time of the reverse bias while being made depend upon reference level voltage supplied to the input side of a comparator. CONSTITUTION:A time limit circuit for ON-delay is formed by a time-constant circuit 31 and a comparator 32. The input side of the time-constant circuit 31 is connected to an input terminal 34 through an AND gate 33, and the output side is connected to the non-inversion input terminal of the comparator 32. The comparator 32 compares the level of signals from the time-constant circuit 31 and a reference voltage level from a reference voltage generator 35. A time limit circuit for reverse bias has the time-constant circuit 31 and a comparator 36. The comparator 36 compares the signal level from the time-constant circuit 31 and the reference voltage level from the reference voltage generator 35. A comparators 39, 40 are formed similarly, transistors 42, 45, 48, 51 are controlled by these output, and base signals and reverse bias signals to a main transistor are outputted.

    • PURPOSE:To increase a coefficient of utilization of inverter voltage by a method wherein an inverter is operated as a pulse width modulating inverter during the time when a limiter of a voltage regulator does not work, and it is operated as a square wave inverter when the limiter works. CONSTITUTION:A limiter action detecting circuit 7 consists of a comparator connected to the output of a voltage regulator 3', and the comparator operates when the output of the voltage regulator 3' reaches the limit voltage of a limiter LM and gives a flip-flop F of an inhibiting circuit 8 of the next stage set input. The flip- flop F is locked when the polarity of the next output controlling signals is inverted, and inhibits a logical gate G using pulse width modulating signals as the first input. The inverter works as a pulse width modulating inverter during the time when the limiter LM does not operate, and the inverter works as a square wave inverter when the limiter LM operates.
