    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non slipping shaft securing simply and securely when fitting the shaft in a shaft hole of the inner ring.
      SOLUTION: In this shaft retaining structure of the constant velocity universal joint constituted by inserting the shaft 13 into the shaft hole 12 formed at inside diameter of the inner ring 6 of the constant velocity universal joint for spline-fitting to provide the non slip shaft 13 in the inner ring 6, a locking part 15 protruding in the radial direction so as to lock in an opening end fringe of the shaft hole 12 of the inner ring 6 is formed in a shaft end part 14 of the shaft 13, and a slit channel 16 cut out in the axial direction so as to contract diameter when inserting into the shaft hole 12 is formed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the endurance of a constant velocity universal joint by reducing surface pressure that is applied to a race and is attributable to contact with a ball. SOLUTION: Traverse sections of first races 26a to 26f formed on the inner wall surface of an outer cup 16 are formed into a circular-arc shape to be brought into contact with the ball 28 at one point (B). Besides, traverse sections of second races 32a to 32f provided on the peripheral surface of an inner ring 34 are formed into an elliptic-arc shape to be brought into contact with balls at two points (F, E). With regard to the diameter (N) of the ball 28 and an offset (T) of the first and second races 26a, 32a, a ratio (T/N) is defined as V and then is set so as to satisfy a relational expression 0.12≤V≤0.14. A first partition wall 14 on the outer race side and a second partition wall 15 on the hollow shaft part side are provided for parting the inside of the outer race 4 in the constant velocity universal joint 2 and the inside of the hollow shaft part 3. A first communication hole 18 and a second communication hole 23 are respectively provided in the first partition wall 14 and the second partition wall 15.
