    • PURPOSE:To obtain a DA converting circuit with high performance at low cost, by varying the signal range of an input digital signal supplied to the DA converter on the basis of an information range signal. CONSTITUTION:While an input digital signal supplied to an input terminal 1 is shifted in a shift register SR, a signal which shows the information range of the input digital signal is obtained. Then, input information which corresponds to the information range of the input digital signal is supplied to a DA converter DAC1 and a range bit is generated on the basis of said signal showing the information range and then supplied to a DA converter DAC2, thus obtaining an external reference input signal to the DA converter DAC1 as the output of the DA converter DAC2. Therefore, polygonal expansion operation is performed easily with the simple constitution.

    • PURPOSE:To set an optional voltage variable range, by connecting two operational amplifiers across a load. CONSTITUTION:When the digital input to be applied to weight resistances R1- Rn is 0, the initial voltage to be supplied to a load RL is set by a semifixed resistance VR2. In this case, the voltage to be supplied to the load RL has virtually no change although a semifixed resistance VR1 is actuated. Then the digital input of a D/A converter is set maximum to set the voltage of point B at a certain level except for 0. Thus an operational amplifier OP1 functions as a noninverse amplifier. Accordingly the output voltage of the amplifier OP1 varies by the control of the resistance VR1 to set the maximum voltage. When the digital input is set again at 0, the voltage of the point B is also set at 0 again. Thus the change of the resistance VR1 does not emerge at the output. As a result, both the initial voltage and the maximum voltage can be set simply by controlling once the resistances VR1 and VR2.
