    • PURPOSE:To minimize occurrence of color mixture as well as to remove only a phosphor layer by applying and drying a precoat liquid for inactivating an exposed port of the inside surface of a panel, to said inside surface, after forming a light-absorbing layer on said inside surface of the panel, then forming a phosphor layer. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, a light-absorbing layer 2a is formed on the inside surface of a panel 1, and then, this light-absorbing layer 2a and an exposed panel-inside surface 1b (called ''substrate'' in general) are wipingly coated with a precoating liquid prepared by dissolving a frit glass 4kg in 4wt% nitric acid 80l, followed by drying it. Next, phosphor slurry coloring in blue, for example, being added with a photosensitive binder as a first color is spread thereon and it is dried and exposed to light, followed by development and drying, thus forming a blue-coloring tape-like phosphor layer 6B. In this case since the treatment with precoating liquid inactivates the substrate chemically, there will be no phenomenon of any remaining phosphor constituting the said phosphor layer 6B as residue at the position where originarily, a coloring phosphor layer 6R in red as a third color or a coloring phosphor layer 6G in green as a second color is to be formed.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate environmental pollution by mist, stabilize oxidation capability of solution and improve mass-productivity by using a particular decomposition agent under the specified conditon, on the occasion of forming a photo absorbing pattern by convering the pattern polymerized with photo sensitive polyvinyl alcohol with a photo absorbing film and then removing the film through decomposition. CONSTITUTION:As a decomposition agent of polyvinyl alcohol, aqueous solution of periodate or a salt of one or more kinds of barium, sodium and potassium with 0.006-0.2wt. percentage is used and a temperature at the time of decomposition is set to 35-75 deg.C. Thereby, the object is attained at a very low concentration and it is superior from the point of view of safety for human body. The range where concentration of oxidizing agent is about 0.2wt% or more is not desirable because an adverse effect appears on the bonding strength of phosphor stripe, following the manufacturing process of photo absorbing pattern. Namely, in case concentration of oxidizing agent is high, it is absorbed and remains on the internal surface of panel and as a result bonding strength of PVA which is binder of phosphorus is deteriorated.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the color mixture of a phosphor screen forming a phosphor pattern by applying a phophor with an average grain size varying from a small one to a large one in sequence and/or with the wettability to an adhesive compound generated by exposure varying from a small one to a large one in sequence. CONSTITUTION:A phosphor with phosphor particles smaller in proportion to those of the phosphor coated in the subsequent process is coated beforehand so that the phosphor particles applied in the subsequent process do not enter the gap of a phosphor film formed in the previous process. In addition, the first color and the second color phosphor patterns are made not to be covered by an adhesive compound until the third color is coated, and if nothing is to be coated after the third color, the third color phosphor most wettable to the adhesive compound is applied. Thereby, the color mixture is prevented and the film can be made thick as much as possible.

    • PURPOSE:To improve sharply quality of a phosphor screen by a method wherein a temperature distribution (a humidity distribution) at the time of giving exposure and a phosphor is controlled when manufacturing a phosphor screen by repeatedly giving exposure and a phosphor in turn using a photoactinic and sticky substance. CONSTITUTION:A composite photoactinic and sticky substance containing 3.0wt% of chlorinated P-dimethyl aminobenzene diazonium zinc chloride double salt, 0.6wt% of alginic acid propylene glycol ester, 0.003wt% of surface active agent (Pluronic L-92) and 0.1wt% of ethyleneglycol is applied to an inside panel up to the thickness of 1.0mum while raising the panel temperature up to about 60 deg.C by drying with an ultrared heater. Thereafter, the panel temperature is made to be distributed as shown in Fig. a 1 while exposing for about 1min with photostrength of 15W/m in the position of an edge and giving a green phosphor for 30sec. The positions of blue and red are exposed to light with the temperature distribution as shown in the next Fig. a2 and a3 in order to finish tricolor phosphor stripes by giving phosphors of various colors.

    • PURPOSE:To automatically detect and correct the displacement of multiple mask patterns by means of moire streaks generated by black stripe lines formed on the inner surface of a fluorescent screen forming panel and the respective pattern forming holes of individual mask patterns. CONSTITUTION:If a distance in the Z direction between the inner surface of a panel 1 and a mask pattern 2 is adjusted to a suitable distance da at a position P3 in the center of the panel 1 with an exposure meter, moire streaks of the panel 1 become symmetrical patterns in relation to the center of the panel 1. Accordingly, asymmetrical moire streaks in relation to the center of the panel 1 are changed to the moire streaks symmetrical to the center, then the left and right ends of a mask pattern 2 are moved to the Z direction to form a moire streak parallel to the X direction, thereby the displacement in the Z direction can be corrected. Likewise, corrections in the Y and theta directions are performed. The formation of said moire streaks is detected by photomultiplier tubes 11, 12, 13, 14 arranged at symmetrical locations of the front center and on the left and right and above and below of the panel 1.
