    • PURPOSE:To prevent chromatic purity from being deteriorated due to residue of unnecessary portions of a fluorescent material by pre-coating a glass panel with a polyvinyl alcohol solution including a diazonium salt, and forming fluores cent patterns of respective colors in succession on said glass panel. CONSTITUTION:An optical absorption layer 2 comprising carbon coating is formed stripe-shaped on the inner surface of a glass panel 1 of a color CRT, on which layer a polyvinyl alcohol solution containing a diazonium salt as a photosensitive agent is applied and hardened for forming a pre-coat 3. Thereafter, a green fluorescent slurry 4 is applied on the pre-coat 3 with an ordinary method, exposed, and developed for forming a green fluorescent pattern and for forming fluorescent patterns of the colors after removing unnecessary portions from the fluorescent material. Thus, chromatic purity can be prevented from being produced due to residual substances of unnecessary portions and a residue of chromium of the fluorescent material.

The above supply nozzle 6 has an open upper end through which a phosphor powder being measured is continuously supplied.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a color CRT having good brightness and residual image characteristic by laminating a colored layer containing pigment and a phosphor layer for emitting white light onto a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A colored layer 8 is formed onto a substrate 1 through deposition of pigment. Then a chalcogen glass layer 11 is formed onto said layer 8 to expose into desired pattern by means of ultraviolet ray, far ultraviolet ray, X-ray or electron beam. Gas mainly composed of multi-halide is employed to perform etching to form a chalcogen glass mask 12. Then etching is performed in a dry etching system while employing gas mainly composed of oxygem only onto the colored layer 8 to form a pigment 8B. Thereafter the mask 12 is removed through etching. Same process is repeated for desired pigment to form a colored layer 9 of three color then a white phosphor substance layer 10 is laminated to obtain a color phosphor face.
