    • PURPOSE:To simplify a breather pipe retaining structure, by providing a reduction gear in a recess of a transmission casing body, and forming a breather passage at an abutment portion of a transmission cover covering the recess and the transmission casing body. CONSTITUTION:Rotation of an engine crank shaft is transmitted through a V belt 15, a variable pulley 14, an automatic centrifugal starting clutch 16, an input shaft 10, and a reduction gear 21 to an axle shaft 12 of a rear wheel RW. A transmission casing 3 is constituted of a casing body 4, a V belt cover 5 covering an outside of a body, and a transmission cover 6 fitted to a recessed wall 4a formed at a rear portion of the casing body 4. A breather pipe 6c is so arranged as to extend from an oil/gas separating chamber subjected to a transmission chamber 20 along an abutment surface of the transmission cover 6 and the casing body 4. The pipe 6c is opened at a lower portion of the transmission casing 3.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce a torsional force acting on the transmission casing of a swing type power unit, by providing a reduction gear in a recess of the transmission casing body, and having an axle shaft of a rear wheel supported by a transmission cover with covers the recess and the transmission casing body. CONSTITUTION:Rotation of an engine crank shaft is transmitted through a V belt 15, a variable pulley 14, an automatic centrifugal starting clutch 16, an input shaft 10, and a reduction gear 21 to an axle shaft 12 of a rear wheel RW. A transmission casing 3 is constituted of a casing body 4, a V belt cover 5 covering an outside of a body, and a transmission cover 6 defining a rear transmission chamber together with the casing body 4. A recessed wall 4a is formed at a rear portion of the casing body 4, and the transmission cover 6 of substantially U-shaped cross section is liquid-sealingly fitted to the recessed wall 4a. Further, the axle shaft 12 is supported by the cover 6 and the casing body 4.
