The balance rings 127 include materials having corrosion resistivity.

SOLUTION: This water injection type air compressor includes: the compressor body 1 for compressing air; a feed water system (detailedly, composed of a separator cooler 9, a water pipe 10, a water cooler 11, a water filter 13 and a feed valve 14) for feeding water to the operating chamber of the compressor body 1; an air release valve 27A for releasing compressed air delivered from the compressor body 1; and a control panel 3 for performing a no-load operation mode for closing the air release valve 27A while feeding water to the operating chamber of the compressor body 1 so that the compressor body 1 is put in load operation and a no-load operation mode for opening the air release valve 27A while feeding water to the operating chamber of the compressor body 1 so that the compressor body 1 is put in no-load operation. The control panel 3 performs a dry operation mode for opening the air release valve 27A while stopping feed water to the operating chamber of the compressor body 1 so that the compressor body 1 is put in the no-load operation.
