    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide chamber equipment that includes a compact constitution for moving an electron beam generator.
      SOLUTION: The chamber equipment includes a chamber housing 12 that defines a chamber interior space 14 and includes a first opening 46, a carriage 52 that is movable in the range of the first opening 46, the electron beam generator 42 for generating an electron beam along an electron beam axis 45 and a disk 70. The electron beam generator 42 is disposed on the carriage 52, so that the electron beam passes through the first opening 46 when the carriage 52 moves in the range of the first opening 46. The disk 70 is disposed between the chamber housing 12 and the carriage 52 and is rotatable about a rotational axis 72, which is perpendicular to the first opening 46, at least between a first position (A) and a second position (B). The disk 70 includes a second opening 74 that is separate from the rotational axis 72 and extends in the radial direction.

    • PURPOSE:To make the maintenance of an electron gun easy by fitting the movable X ray shielding member to a supporting cylinder and by covering completely the opening part of a fixed X ray shielding member. CONSTITUTION:A fixed X ray shielding member 11 is provided on the inner wall of a welding chamber 1 and movable X ray shielding member 12 is fitted to a supporting part 7 as well. A sliding base 4 is moved in vertical direction with the movement of an electron gun 5 and in this case movable X ray shielding member 12 is moved as well together. The shielding member 12 cuts off completely the opening part of the fixed shielding member 11 irrespective of its position, therefore. With this method the opening area of the shielding member 1 can be minimized and the X ray shielding cover of the electron gun 5 is disused. The maintenance of the electron gun 5 is thus made easy.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of equipments by providing a moving electron beam generating part outside a welding chamber and by arranging the moving base of the body to be welded inside the welding chamber. CONSTITUTION:An electron beam generating device 2c and moving base 10 are arranged outside a welding chamber 9 and made movable with keeping the welding chamber 9 in vacuum by the evacuation device 5 of the inside of the welding chamber 9. The moving base 11 to move the body 1 to be welded is also arranged inside the welding chamber 9. The electron beam generating part 2c is made to have the moving quantity of each 1/2l2 against the center of the chamber 9 and the moving quantity l3 of the moving base 11 is equalized to the l2. The values of these l2, l3 are taken as the half of the length l1 of the body to be welded. It therefore becomes sufficient to make the length of the welding chamber (l1+l3). Namely the length of chamber 9 will do at about 1.5 times of the length of the body 1 to be welded. The equipments of welding chamber 9, evacuation device 5,etc. become smaller as well with this method and the equipment cost is reduced.
