    • PURPOSE:To change the rigidity of a fluid bearing to a specified level in a short period of time to maintain it by controlling a fluid control valve by a pressure controller according to the measured values of the temperature of oil in an oil tank and the supply pressure of lubricating oil and compensating variation in rigidity due to variation in oil temperature by variation in supply pressure of lubricating oil. CONSTITUTION:A temperature sensor 9 is provided in an oil tank 6, and a pressure sensor 11 is provided near a bearing pocket 4 in an oil feed line 8. A suppressing force to oil pressure in a fluid control valve 13 is increased and decreased by a pressure controller 14 according to the measured values of the temperature of oil in the oil tank 6 and the supply pressure of lubricating oil to control the oil pressure of the lubricating oil flowing through the feed line 8. By this, variation in bearing rigidity due to variation in oil temperature can be compensated by variation in lubricating oil supply pressure and, therefore, the bearing rigidity can be changed to a specified level in a short period of time to always maintain a rigidity. Accordingly, even when abrupt change in temperature is produced, the rigidity can be changed to a specified level immediately.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive truing device by supporting so as to rotatively drive a finishing grinding wheel truer and a superfinishing grinding wheel truer respectively truing a finishing grinding wheel and a superfinishing grinding wheel with an interval in between on a workpiece support device. SOLUTION: A workpiece is supported by the workpiece support device and it is rotatively driven around a rotation axis. The first and second wheel spindle stocks 27 and 28 are mounted so that they are individually moved in a parallel direction and a perpendicular direction to the rotation axis by a feeding device. The finishing grinding wheel 34 and the superfinishing grinding wheel 35 are respectively supported so that they are rotatively driven on the first and second wheel spindle stocks. A housing 41 of the truing device 40 with a truer shaft supported so that it can be rotatively driven in parallel with the rotation axis is provided integrally with the workpiece support device 15 so as to face the first and second wheel spindle stocks. The finishing grinding wheel truer and the superfinishing grinding wheel truer are attached to the truer shaft with the interval wider than a width of the finishing grinding wheel or the superfinishing grinding wheel having a wider width.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide grinding and superfinishing methods and a machining device capable of shortening the working time. SOLUTION: This machining method is so formed that grinding wheels and superfinishing grinding wheels are selectively aligned relative to respective machining counterparts of a work having a plurality of machining counterparts rotatably supported to a single axis and axially separated from one another, cross-feeding the grinding wheels and the superfinishing grinding wheels to the respective machining counterparts in the alignment position to grind the respective machining counterparts into the grinding size, and the grinding counterparts ground into the grinding size are superfinished into the superfinishing size. The superfinishing grinding wheels are made to wait in waiting positions with a prescribed interval separated from another machined part ground into the grinding size, at least, in the initial stage of the process for the grinding wheel grinding one of the grinding counterparts. The prescribed interval is determined based on the cross feed position of the superfinishing grinding wheel when another machining counterpart is machined into the superfinishing size.
