      SOLUTION: This vacuum valve is provided with: a fixation-side sealing fitting 3 sealed to one end of a vacuum insulation vessel 1; a fixation-side current-carrying shaft 4 fixed to the fixation-side sealing fitting 3; a fixation-side contact 5 fixed to an end of the fixation-side current-carrying shaft 4; a movable-side sealing fitting 2 sealed to the other end of the vacuum insulation vessel 1; a movable-side current-carrying shaft 7 penetrating the movable-side sealing fitting 2; a movable-side contact 6 fixed to an end of the movable-side current-carrying shaft 7; a bellows 8 airtightly fixed between the movable-side current-carrying shaft 7 and the movable-side sealing fitting 2; a bearing guide 9 arranged on the atmospheric pressure side of the bellows 8; and a plurality of liquid flow holes 21 formed on the movable-side current-carrying shaft 7, and making the atmospheric pressure side of the bellows 8 communicate with the outside of the vacuum insulation vessel 1 at any position in bringing the contacts 5 and 6 into with each other and separating them from each other. The vacuum valve is characterized by setting cross-sectional areas of openings at both ends of each liquid flow hole 21 larger than that of an intermediate part thereof.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize electrodes and a vacuum valve by providing a first electrode having a slit with its axis inclined to a bottom part surface and a second electrode having a slit with its axis inclined at a angle decreased an angle of the slit of the first electrode from nearly 180 degrees to the bottom part surface on an internally cylindrical body so as to oppose to each other in a vacuum container. SOLUTION: An arc current generated between contacts 312 opposed to each other is synthesized by a current that flows along a slit 316 and a current that flows along a slit 2, and electromagnetic force acts on an arc by a magnetic field generated by each current in a vertical direction to an arc column. Drive force by the current which flows along the slit 2 acts on the arc when the arc approaches a central side between the contacts 312, and drive force by the current which flows along the slit 316 acts on the arc when the arc approaches the outside of the contacts 312. Therefore, the drive force of the arc can be obtained to suppress localized heating of the arc, and cutoff performance to a heavy-current region can be obtained and electrodes are miniaturized.
