    • PURPOSE:To prolong the life of the above-mentioned roll by providing a cylindrical sleeve made of a semiconductive synthetic resin and a conductive inside layer formed along the circumference on the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical sleeve. CONSTITUTION:Semiconductive cylindrical sleeve forming materials are respectively compounded and this compd. is kneaded to obtain a mixture. This mixture is charged into an extruder and the semiconductive cylindrical sleeve 21 is produced by extrusion molding. Further, the sleeve is subjected to polishing if dimensional accuracy is required. Conductive inside layer 22 forming materials are then compounded and the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical sleeve 21 is coated with the compd. thereof. The coating is dried and cured by heating, by which the electrifying roll 20 having a two-layered structure is produced. The molding materials prepd. by compounding high-polymer materials, such as thermoplastic resin and thermosetting resin and conductive powder, such as carbon black, are used in such a case. The conductive inside layer 22 is also obtd. by using a similar resin compsn.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent slippage of paper due to paper powder while to improve the durability by forming fine grooves for containing and discharging the paper powder axially in the outercircumferential face layer made of abrasion-resistant rubber with predetermined interval in the circumferential direction thereby taking the paper powder into the fine groove. CONSTITUTION:A paper feed roller is formed with a sponge layer 11 on the outer circumference of a metallic core 10 while an abrasion-resistant rubber layer 12 is formed on the outercircumference of the sponge layer 11. Here, fine arched grooves 13 are formed axially from one end to the other in the surface of the rubber layer 12 with predetermined interval in the circumferential direction. The fine grooves 13 are dimensioned such that the groove width will be 50mum-5mm, the groove depth will be 20mum-2mm and the circumferential pitch will be 20mum-5m. With such arrangement, when rotating the roller in the arrow direction to feed the paper, the paper powder 14 existing on the surface of the paper 5 can be taken into the fine groove 13 resulting in prevention of slippage due to the paper powder 14.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a charged roll capable of obtaining an excellent copy image and free from the generation of noise by laminating a conductive elastic body layer, in which an electron-conductive type electroconducting agent is dispersed, and a conductive foamed body layer blended with an ion-conductive type electroconducting agent. CONSTITUTION:The charged roll is formed by laminating the conductive elastic body layer 21 and the conductive foamed body layer 22 on the outer periphery of the core metal 20. The conductive elastic body layer is formed of a forming material obtained by blending the electron-conductive type electroconducting agent such as carbon black, a solid solution of zinc oxide and aluminum oxide, a cross-linking agent, a softening agent, a plasticizer or the like with a matrix component such as an epichlorohydrin- ethylene oxide copolymer rubber. The conductive foamed body layer is formed by blending an ion-conductive type electroconducting agent such as trimethyl octadecyl ammonium chloride, a foaming agent, a plasticizer, a vulcanization accelerator or the like with a high polymer material such as a hydrogenated nitrile rubber. The electric resistance of the conductive elastic body layer is preferably set to OMEGA.cm and the electric resistance of the conductive foamed body layer is preferably set to 10 -10 OMEGA.cm.
