    • PURPOSE:To form a wear- and heat-resistant cermet layer on the surface of a metallic roll by winding a sheet consisting of autogenous alloy powder and ceramic powder or short fibers and org. binder via an adhesive layer on the surface of the metallic roll into single layers or lamination and sintering the same in a non-oxidizing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:The adhesive agent layer consisting of a thermosetting resin such as epoxy resin or phenolic resin is formed on the surface of the metallic roll to be used for paper making, film forming and molding of plastic, etc. The sheet prepd. by mixing 1-30pts.wt. org. high-polymer binder such as rubber- like polymer to 100pts.wt. mixture composed of 20-99wt% Ni-base or Co-base autogeneous alloy and 80-1wt% powder or short fibers of hard metallic carbide or mertallic nitride is wound thereon and is sintered at 900-1,200 deg.C in a non- oxidizing atmosphere. The laminated sheet composed of the sheet consisting of the autogenous alloy powder and org. high-polymer binder and the above- mentioned three sheets is otherwise wound double on the above-mentioned roll surface, by which the hard cermet layer having the excellent adhesiveness to the roll, wear resistance and heat resistance is obtd.
