    • PURPOSE:To permit the regulation of the expanding angle of atomization flow by connecting the outlet ends of introduction pipes for air and liquid sides at an acute angle and providing a partition wall having an orifice between a discharge port and a vapor-liquid feed pipe in a nozzle for the secondary cooling of continuous casting process. CONSTITUTION:Air is introduced from an air side introduction pipe 5a, and a liquid is introduced from a liquid side introduction pipe 5b. The air side and liquid side introduction pipes are connected to each other at an angle of within 90 deg. on the outlet side ends of each introduction pipe. Thus, air and liquid introduced are mixed together uniformly, and the air-liquid mixture is jetted from plural orifices 8 with a small section in the partition wall 9 provided between the vapor-liquid feed pipe and the discharge port 7 and collides against the inner wall of a vapor-liquid atomizing and mixing chamber 6 attached on the outlet side of the vapor-liquid feed pipe, where they are effectively mixed. Also, the expanding angle of atomization flow, etc., can be optionally regulated by altering the shape, sectio, and arrangement of the orifices.

    • PURPOSE: To uniformly cool an ingot by providing porous discharging and spraying nozzles having plural discharge holes and provided with the discharge holes in such a way as to make the part near the nozzle centerlines vacant within a gas and liquid spray range in diagonal line directions in the section of the material to be cooled.
      CONSTITUTION: In secondary cooling of continuous cooling, porous discharging and spraying nozzles 5 having multiple discharge holes 7 are installed in diagonal line directions in the section of a material 4 to be cooled. The holes 7 are of such a shape at which the spread in the width direction of sprays makes the part near the centerlines of the nozzle 5 vacant. Here, the two adjacent surfaces excluding the corner parts of the material 4 are cooled simultaneously by the nozzle 5.
