摘要： PURPOSE:To stabilize the supply of hydrogen to an engine so as to make it possible to smoothly drive the whole system by controlling the heat medium temperature of the opening of a container for keeping in constant and adjusting the quantity of heat mediums which circulate into the container so as to control the generating pressure of hydrogen for keeping it constant. CONSTITUTION:A temperature controller 17 adjusts the quantity of heat gains so that the heat medium temperature of the opening of a hydrogen-occlusive alloy container 5 is almost elevated to its upper limit. An adjusting valve 15 adjusts the discharge of heat mediums which are caused to pass through the container 5, so that the pressure of hydrogen generated is kept at its preset value. In addition, a by-pass valve 16 is provided for preventing circulation of the heat mediums from being stopped. Provided the capacity of its heat source is sufficient, therefore, the heat medium temperature is constantly maintained at its maximum value, and the adjustment of the quantity of heat to the container 5 is performed by varying the discharge of the heat mediums to be forced to flow through the container 5.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the effective availability of metal hydride by switching the flow directions of a medium in a medium passage, and thereby uniformizing the reversible reaction of the metal hydride. CONSTITUTION:Cooling water is introduced into a working engine E to cool the engine, and the heated cooling water is introduced into a fluid circulating passage 2. When an electromagnetic selector valve 9 is set at position (a), the water flows in direction of the arrow P, branches at point 20 into branch pipelines 2a and 2b, and is introduced into containers 3. Consequently, the metal hydride packed in the container 3 is heated to discharge gaseous H2. Both water flows are joined at point 21, and the water is then allowed to flow in direction of the arrow Q and returned to the engine E as cooling water. Meanwhile, the gaseous H2 generated in the container 3 is stored in a cylinder 8 through pipelines 4 and 6, and then supplied to the engine E via a pressure reducing valve 12 and a regulator 13. When the temp. of hot water is lowered, the valve 9 is set at position (b), and hence the hot water is introduced into the container 3 from a supply line shown by the arrow Pa through point 21 and the branch pipelines 2a and 2b to generate gaseous H2, then sent in direction of the arrow Qa through point 21, and returned to the engine E via the selector valve 9.

摘要： PURPOSE:To eliminate any stagnation of hydrogen gas in a route after engine stoppage by interrupting a gas flow passage in a state of maintaining the ignition operation of an engine, igniting the hydrogen gas in the route leading to the engine from this interrupted spot, in the engine and then exhausting it from the engine. CONSTITUTION:When a key switch 12 is turned to OFF to stop any operation of an engine 9, a controller 13 changes a solenoid-operated control valve 5 over to an (a) position from a (b) position, interrupting an alloy tank 1 and the engine 9 both. If so, hydrogen gas left over at the downstream side from the solenoid-operated control valve 5 is fed, under pressure, into a combustion chamber of its whole quantity without remaining behind in a regulator 6, a carburetor 7 and an intake manifold 10, etc., and it is ignited hereat and then exhausted in to the air. After the remaining hydrogen gas is exhausted out of the engine 9, ignition of a spark plug 11 is stopped by the controller 13 via an igniter 15, thus stopping work for the engine 9 is completed.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent running out of hydrogen, by a method wherein, from the detecting results of a pressure in a containing means for a metallic hydride, generating hydrogen gas by heating, and the temperature of a metallic hydride, a hydrogen content of the metallic hydride is computed, and an alarm is generated. CONSTITUTION:The downstream side of a hot water line 3, through which cooling water for an engine 4 is circulated, is branched into 3 sections, and branch lines 3a-3c run through containers 1 and 1 and an auxiliary container 2, respectively. The containers 1 and 2 are filled with a metallic hydride processed to form a fine granulate, and hydrogen gas is generated by the passage of hot water therethrough. The hydrogen gas is collected, and is introduced to a carburetor through a gas line 22 to run the engine 4. In this case, a pressure sensor 7 and a temperature sensor 8 are mounted in one container 1, and based on a detected hydrogen gas pressure and metallic hydride temperature, the hydrogen content of the metallic hydride is computed. When the hydrogen content is decreased to a value lower than a lower limit allowable value, an alarm lamp is actuated.

Thus, air and liquid introduced are mixed together uniformly, and the air-liquid mixture is jetted from plural orifices 8 with a small section in the partition wall 9 provided between the vapor-liquid feed pipe and the discharge port 7 and collides against the inner wall of a vapor-liquid atomizing and mixing chamber 6 attached on the outlet side of the vapor-liquid feed pipe, where they are effectively mixed. Also, the expanding angle of atomization flow, etc., can be optionally regulated by altering the shape, sectio, and arrangement of the orifices.

When the resulting refining vessel is used, the shaking of a steel bath during refining is inhibited, and the refining efficiency is enhanced and stabilized.
