    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the base treatment process for a surface to be coated, to prevent rusting and to keep the adhesive property of a rust preventive coating material over a long period by forming a chemical coating film on the surface to be coated and after that, applying an alkali group containing coating material. SOLUTION: A chemical coating film is formed by applying a chemical coating film forming agent prepared by blending a fluorine compound, an oxalate and the like in a tannic acid aq. solution on a steel structure base-treated with sand blast or the like and drying. As the alkaline coating material applied on the chemical coating film, a rust preventive coating composition prepared by blending 10-300 pts.wt. slag containing 30-70% CaO with 100 pts.wt. resin solid matter composed of an epoxide resin having an average molecular weight of 300-300 and an epoxide equivalent of 180-2200 and a hardening agent is used. As the alkali group-containing slag, blast furnace granulate slag having 0.1-100 μm particle diameter or the like is used. The surface of the chemical coating film is previously neutralized or alkalified by applying a liquid prepared by eluting a slag component before the coating material is applied and in such a case, it is unnecessary to use the alkaline coating material.

By controlling oxygen density, generation of oxide is inhibited at the time of diffusion joining of the hard wear-resistant sheet 13 and the super-hard wear-resistant sheet 11 through the insert sheet 12 therebetween. Thereby, stress generated at the time of using between the both sheets are relaxed, and temperature distribution generated by temperature variation or the like becomes uniform.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the reduced thickness due to corrosion and increase life by providing a chromium and iron carbide layer of high chromium concentration on a surface. SOLUTION: A chromium and iron carbide layer of high chromium concentration is provided on the surface of the grate bar 1 of a sintering machine made of high chromium cast iron. In order to form such a layer, a chromium cementing process which is generally called a chromising process is carried out. On performing this process, a metallic semi-closed container is first filled with a cementing agent having a prescribed composition. A material to be processed, such as the grate bar 1 with a prescribed shape made of an iron steel material such as a high chromium cast iron of a prescribed composition is embedded in the cementing agent. Then, when the grate bar 1 is heated for a prescribed time at a prescribed temperature while inactive gas such as argon, reducing gas is supplied to the container, a very hard chromium/iron carbide layer having prescribed surface chromium concentration, layer thickness and surface hardness is formed. The reason why the semi-closed container is used is that the thermal decomposition gas of air and ammonium chloride in the container is released outside.
