    • PURPOSE:To enable to effect room cooling without spoiling the feeling of an user and save and energy for the room cooling by a method wherein the natural room cooling is effected by atmospheric air when a room temperature has been stabilized sufficiently by the room cooling operation. CONSTITUTION:Times T1, T2, T3 are set in a constant time timer, an atmospheric temperature is not decided within the time of T2 after beginning of the cooling operation and the cooling operation is continued if a thermostat for the room temperature is being put ON after the time of T2 is elapsed. If the atmospheric temperature is higher than a set value when the thermostat is put OFF, the cooling operation is effected while a ventilating operation is effected for the time of T1 if the atmospheric temperature is lower than the set value, and the cooling operation is effected if the thermostat is being put ON after the time of T1 is elapsed but the ventilating operation is effected if the thermostat is being put OFF. In case the ventilating operation has not been effected for the time of T3 after beginning the cooling operation, the cooling operation is switched into the ventilating operation forcibly after the time of T3 is elapsed. The switching into the ventilating operation may be effected by a manual switch.

    • PURPOSE:To enable reliable and rational detection of a three-phase current by a method wherein one of current lines of two phases out of three-phase currents is made to be reverse in phase and to pierce through a current transformer for current detection. CONSTITUTION:Vectors of three-phase currents IR, IS and Ir constitute a triangle, and when IR and IS are made to pierce in the same phase thorugh a current transformer for current detection, they become equivalent to Ir. In the case when IS is made to pierce therethrough in a reverse phase, the current transformer for current detection detects a current of A as shown in the figure E. When there occurs unbalance between phases of three-phase power sources, a triangle of IR, I'S and I'r is constituted as indicated by dotted lines of the figure F. When IR and I'S are in the same phase and made to pierce through the current transformer for current detection, they are equivalent to I'r and the same substantially with Ir. When I'S is made to pierce therethrough in the reverse phase, a current of A' is detected and a difference DELTAA between A and A' can be detected.

    • PURPOSE:To make the blowing direction controllable according to the position of the remote control and independent of the position of the air conditioner by dividing the room where an air conditioner is installed into a plurality of zones and by providing a means for selecting one from among the zones, a means for registering the position of the air conditioner, and a means for determining the position of the remote control. CONSTITUTION:The room where an air conditioner is installed is divided into nine zones, namely, A to I. Where the air conditioner 1 is installed at the left end of the room, an installation position registration switch 5 is set for the position (1); where the installation is in the middle, the setting is for the position (2). If, for example, the user is in the F zone, the user pushes a key F of zone selection keys 4; thereupon the remote control 3 transmits to the air conditioner 1 an infrared ray signal corresponding to the F zone which is the position of the remote control 3 relative to that of the air conditioner 1; this signal causes a microcomputer as a means for determining the remote control position, which is contained in the air conditioner 1, to determine the position of the remote control as F and thereby control blowing direction-controlling louvers 11, 12, 13.
