    • PURPOSE: To provide an electrophotographic liquid developer which exhibits stable electrostatic chargeability and with which an always high image density is obtainable without being affected by an ambient environmental change and change with lapse of time by containing a specific amt. of moisture and a basic dispersion resin soluble in a carrier liquid and having an acidic group on toner particle surfaces. CONSTITUTION: The toner particles consisting of at least a binder resin and discoloring agent are dispersed into a high-resistance carrier. The moisture content in the liquid developer is 500 to 20000ppm and the developer contains the basic dispersion resin soluble in the carrier liquid and has the acidic group on the toner particle surfaces. The moisture of the content higher than the content at which the electrostatic charge of the toner particles in the liquid developer attains a satd. state in the presence of the basic dispersion resin is positively added into the liquid developer, by which the control of the toner electrostatic charge quantity by control of the acidity of the toner particle surfaces is made possible. The liquid developer which exhibit the electrostatic chargeability stable to a slight change in the moisture content in the liquid developer by a change in the ambient temp. and humidity environment and has the excellent stability with lapse of time at the time of long-term used is obtd.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle moving type rewritable image display medium capable of displaying an image of high quality by suppressing adhesion of development particles to a substrate and the like to suppress generation of an afterimage at the time when an image is rewritten and reduction of the amount of movable development particles.
      SOLUTION: In the particle moving type rewritable image display medium 11 provided with a pair of substrates 111 and 112, partition walls 113 between the substrates, developer holding cells 114 between the adjacent partition walls and a dry process developer DL held in the cells, developing particles WP and BP which are constituents of the developer DL are made to move to display the image by applying an electric field corresponding to the image to be formed to the developing particles. Fine particles mp for suppressing adhesion of the developing particles having particle sizes smaller than those of the developing particles are made to adhere to the inner surface of the substrate 111 and the side surfaces of the partition walls 113 which are facing the developing particles.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a variation of electric resistance in the surface layer of a toner carrier due to a change of environmental conditions and to achieve stable development even if environmental conditions change as well as to suppress the cracking of a toner when a regulating member is brought into press contact with the surface of the toner carrier with the surface layer comprising emulsion resin particles to regulate the amount of the toner carried to a developing region. SOLUTION: In a developing device in which a regulating member 13 is brought into press contact with the surface of a toner carrier 11 to regulate the amount of a toner carried to a developing region and the toner is fed from the toner carrier to the latent image part of an image carrier in the developing region to carry out development, a surface layer 11b comprising emulsion resin particles obtained by a soap-free polymerization method not using a dispersant is disposed on the surface of the toner carrier.
