    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inerter device that sharply reduces torque ripples and suppresses noise and vibrations. SOLUTION: This inverter device is provided with a rotor-position/speed detecting part 8, that detects the position and speed of a rotor from a terminal voltage of a motor 4; a speed control part 10 that controls the speed of the motor to a target speed; a conduction width setting part 11 that sets the conduction width to the motor; a PWM position setting part 12, that sets the PWM position in the conduction of the motor, and a conduction controlling part 9 that controls the conduction to the motor. The conduction control part 9 controls the conduction according to the magnetic pole position of the rotor. In this case, the conduction width is set in the range of 120 degrees or more and less than 180 degrees. Three sections are provided on a beginning part of one energization section; a first section that PWM controls switching elements, a second section that normally turns on given switching elements after the first one, and a third section that PWM controls the switching elements after the second one.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to detect the capacitance omission of a capacitor irrespective of whether an input power supply is at 50Hz or 60Hz by a method wherein a frequency detection part and a load-current detection part are installed and a ripple reference value according to a frequency and to a load current is computed. SOLUTION: A frequency detection part 5 detects the frequency of an AC power supply 1, and a load-current detection part 6 detects the magnitude of a DC current flowing to a load 4. A ripple-voltage-reference-value computing part 8 contains, inside a memory, reference-value data on a ripple voltage corresponding to the value of a load current when a frequency is at 50Hz and 60Hz, and it computes the reference value of the ripple voltage on the basis of outputs from the frequency detection part 5 and from the load-current detection part 6. The reference value and a ripple voltage value detected by a ripple-voltage detection part 7 are compared and computed by a comparison part 9. When the ripple voltage is larger than the reference value, a control part 10 judges the capacitance omission of a capacitor 2 on the basis of a signal from the comparison part 9, and it turns off the switch of the current flowing to the load.
