    • PURPOSE:To measure steepness with high accuracy by measuring the apparent length of a steel plate which has a local extension part to a plane and then measuring the actual length of the steel plate after the local extension part is flattened. CONSTITUTION:A movable pair of a projector 3 and a photodetector 5 are suspended from a beam 6 provided above a surface plate 2 so that both end parts of the steel plate 1 can be detected. The light beam 4a projected by the projector 3 is reflected by the surface plate 2 and its reflected light 4b is detected by the photodetector 5. Then the steel plate 1 in a locally extended shape to be measured is mounted on the surface plate 2 first and while the projector 3 and photodetector 5 are moved in the width direction of the steel plate 1, the apparent length L0 of the steel plate 1 is measured. Then a weight is placed on the steel plate 1 and the actual length L1 is measured while the steel plate 1 is flattened. The apparent length L0 and actual length L1 are inputted to a steepness storage, arithmetic, and display device 7 at each time and stored, and the steepness is calculated from a specific expression while made to correspond to each measurement point, so that the result is displayed.

    • PURPOSE:To maintain a titled L camber value at a constant low value by moving an anticorrugating roll to the same extent cooperatively with the movement of an anticrimpling roll 3 in the sheet gage direction on the outlet side of a skin-pass mill. CONSTITUTION:An anticrimping roll 3 is disposed at the same height as that of the 2nd stand 1 of a 2-stand skin-pass mill, and an anticorrugating roll 4 is disposed to the same height at that of the upper roll of a tension bridle 5. In this state, a blackplate 2 for galvanizing is passed, and the C camber produced in the stock sheet 2 during skin pass is detected between the stand 1 and the bridle 5. The C camber is stabilized by controlling the position of the roll 3. The movement of the roll 3 is controlled in observing the occurence of lengthwise streaks and bellows. At this time, a clutch 13 is held connected and the rolls 3, 4 are cooperatively moved; the roll 4 is moved upward or downward to the same extent as that of the movement of the roll 3 in the sheet gage direction, whereby the L camber value is maintained always at a constant and stable value.
