摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove foreign matters in a short time by jetting roll detergent to the contact part between a work roll and a back-up roll from the downstream side of the work roll, forming liquid pools and removing the foreign matters by dissolving the foreign matters on the roll surfaces. SOLUTION: The surface of a sheet is inspected on the outlet side of a strip 10 to which temper rolling is applied and the dirt on the roll is detected. Jetting nozzles 5 are provided on the back sides of the contact parts 13 between the work rolls 11 and the back-up rolls 12 of stands 1, 2 and the detergent is fed from a roll-detergent tank 7 with a pump 6. When the information of the dirt of the roll is outputted, automatic valves 4 are opened and the roll detergent is jetted from the nozzles 5 to the rolls, the liquid pools 9 are formed in the contact parts 13 between the work rolls 11 and the back-up rolls 12 and the dirt on the rolls are dissolved and removed. Like this, the foreign matters removing action is begun immediately after confirming the sticking of the foreign matters, so defects are minimized and dangerous manual works in a rolling mill are eliminated.

SOLUTION: A metal strip 1 is rolled with a work roll 3 and a back up roll 4 of a rolling mill. A steering roll 2 is arranged in about 1000mm ahead of a rolling mill. For conducting meandering compensation control of the metal strip, meandering of the metal strip reaching from teens mm to tens mm is detected by a sensor, etc., meandering is instantly compensated by oscillating the steering roll 2 around the vertical axis or around the metal strip 1 flowing direction. An angle which in formed by a center axis of the steering roll 2 and the direction orthogonal to the line, is periodically and finely varied to change a strip route position, a level difference generating position for same strip width is dispersed. As a result, generation of a strip roll mark is prevented. By this method, an equipment modification on a large scale is not required.
