    • PURPOSE:To firmly hold a workpiece with a compact structure by providing a fixed clamp member which is supported by a clamp device by means of an index shaft and a movable clamp member which is relatively approachable/ separable thereto in the direction perpendicularly intersecting to the index shaft. CONSTITUTION:A guide rod 14 having a counterweight portion 13 is slidingly fitted in the guide rod hole 10 of a fixed clamp member 5 and a piston rod 16 having a piston 15 is slidingly fitted in a position rod hole 11. On the other hand, a movable clamp member 6 is fixed to the end portions of the guide rod 14 and piston rod 16. As a pressure oil is operated to the piston 15, the piston rod 16 is drawn in against the energizing force of a compression coil spring 18 to fix a workpiece W between anvils 20, 21. Thereby, the dimension in the radius direction of a chuck body can be reduced and further, by providing the counterweight on the movable clamp member, a centrifugal force is operated in the direction of increasing a clamp force, to increase the supporting strength of a workpiece at the time of high-speed rotation.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the automation of gear fitting/removing work and grinding wheel dressing work so as to enable full automatic continuous operation. CONSTITUTION:A gear like grinding wheel 23 supported to a grinding wheel supporting unit 2 is meshed with a gear W mounted to a workpiece supporting unit 3 to perform the finish-machining of the gear W. A machine base 1 mounted with both units 2, 3 is provided with a placing table 4 and a transfer robot 6, and a workpiece stocker 7 is provided at the side of the machine base 1. An unmachined gear is transferred to the workpiece supporting unit 3 after being temporarily placed on a first placing part 40 on the placing table 4 from a magazine 71a on the workpiece stocker 7 by the transfer robot 6, and a machined gear is transferred to another magazine 71a on the workpiece stocker 7 after being temporarily placed on a second placing part 41 on the placing table 4 from the workpiece supporting unit 3 by the transfer robot 6. A gear dresser 51 and a tooth tip dresser 52 for the grinding wheel are placed on the placing table 4, and each dresser is suitably transferred to the workpiece supporting unit 3 by the transfer robot 6 to dress the grinding wheel 23.

An internal gear shaped grinding wheel in a ring shape 25 is provided for the tip end section of the grinding wheel support unit 16 so as to be freely rotated by a grinding wheel rotating motor 26 within a surface inclined by a specified angle from the horizontal surface, and the inner circumferential teeth of the internal gear shaped grinding wheel 25 are meshed with the outer circumferential teeth of the gear raw material W, so that horning works are thereby carried out.

    • PURPOSE:To make a carrier arm compact and change the switching strokes and timing of clamp fingers easily by supplying clamp finger driving force from outside by an inner shaft enclosed in the carrier arm, and switching the clamp fingers by means of cams. CONSTITUTION:When an inner shaft 38 rotatably supported inside the outer shaft of a carrier arm A is rotated, an intermediate gear 64 connected to one end of a link 61 with its other end brought into contact with cams 581, 582 rigidly secured at the inner shaft 38 is rotated. This rotation is transmitted to parallel rack guide bars 551, 552 through a pinion 68 so as to drive clamp fingers 71, 72 to be switched. As this driving force is transmitted from outside the carrier arm A by the inner shaft 38, the measure of the carrier arm A can be made compact, as well as the switching strokes and timing of the clamp fingers 71, 72 can be changed easily only by exchanging the cams 581, 582 provided at the inner shaft 38.
