When exchanging the plate cylinder 20, the control part for the printing machine controls the phase adjusting means 27 to match the phase of a newly attached plate cylinder 20, supported by the drive side support shaft 21 and the driven side support shaft 25, to a prescribed phase for register on the basis of inputted phase detection signals.
