    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blanket piling prevention method drastically reducing the occurrence and growth of blanket piling as a cause of the printing quality deterioration and, moreover, being free from the pattern dependency in a web offset press, and to provide a printer provided with a function of performing the prevention method. SOLUTION: The transfer position of a printing pattern from a print cylinder to a blanket cylinder is displaced for every number of rotation of a prescribed number or less of rotation of the print cylinder and, thereby, the positional relation between the print cylinder and blanket cylinder can be changed with an appropriate timing and frequency in accordance with the generation frequency and growth speed of the blanket piling due to properties of ink and paper sheet and printing conditions. Because reception and transfer of ink can be performed at the generation point of piling by changing the positional relation, a deposit is transferred to the paper sheet together with ink and, thereby, the blanket piling disappears or decreases to prevent the deterioration of printing quality.
