    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing device which detects obstacles in a vicinity of a mobile body and provides reliable information to a driver without troubles or monitoring omissions.
      SOLUTION: When a detected obstacles is not recognized at present, but was recognized at least once in the past, the information providing device determines whether or not the information on the obstacle is provided to a driver considering the time of elapse from the change of the state or the last recognition of the obstacle. Therefore, the operational safety of the mobile body is ensured, the information quantity provided to the driver is not excessive, and the information without troubles can be provided. If any obstacle or the like is detected around the mobile body, and the information on all obstacles is provided to the driver, the information will be very troublesome. Therefore, troubles by information provision is reduced while the safety of the information provided to the driver is maintained.

SOLUTION: Eye movement and a brain wave signal are measured, and occurrence of the saccade is determined based on the measured eye movement to detect a saccade size and a saccade finish time to extract the brain wave signal with the saccade finish time as a trigger. The saccade size is sorted into a state according to the saccade size. Then, the arithmetic mean of the extracted brain wave signals corresponding to each of sorted states is calculated to calculate the eye fixation related potential of each sorted state, and the average saccade size of each state is calculated based on the saccade size corresponding to each of the sorted states.
