    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of protecting a light-emitting element with its protective film excellent in sealing characteristics and a property for covering stepped side walls, and thereby, the light-emitting element is prevented from degradation and display characteristics is well maintained. SOLUTION: In the display device 1 made up by covering an organic electroluminescent element 3 provided on a substrate 2 with a protective film 2, the protective film 4 has laminated silicon nitride films 4a, 4b, 4c film-formed by a chemical vapor-phase growth using ammonia gas, and at the same time, a high-density silicon nitride film 4c is provided on a surface layer of the protective film 4, under which a low-density silicon nitride film 4b lower in density than the above 4c is provided. • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline secondary battery in which cycle characteristics are improved by suppressing capacity deterioration due to charging/discharging cycles.
SOLUTION: In the alkaline secondary battery 100, a battery can 11 is sealed by a sealing member 20 by disposing a hollow cylindrical positive electrode mixture agent 12 having an outer diameter B and an inner diameter D in the can 11 made of a metal with a bottomed cylindrical state, and disposing a negative electrode mixture agent 14 at the center of the agent 12 via a separator 13 of a bottomed cylindrical state. Further, in the battery, a washer 21 having an outer diameter A and an inner diameter C is provided on the end face of the can 11 of the agent 12 at an opening side. The outer diameter A of the washer 21 is the outer diameter B or less of the agent 12, in a range of B-0.2 mm or more (that is, B≥A≥B-0.2 mm), and the diameter C is a range of the inner diameter D or more of the agent 12, D+2 mm or less (that is, D≤C≤D+2 mm). Thus, moisture generated at a charging time positive electrode is extruded from the positive electrode to the negative electrode, the expansion of the positive electrode by the moisture is suppressed, and the alkaline secondary battery having the excellent cycle characteristics can be obtained.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery wherein gas is smoothly discharged in the event of an increase in internal pressure caused by an accidental misuse, and leakage of an electrolytic solution is prevented with higher reliability. SOLUTION: In the battery 1 wherein a positive electrode 3, a negative electrode 5 and electrolyte are contained in a tubular battery can 2 having a bottom, an opening of the battery can 2 is sealed by a battery cover 12, and the battery cover 12 has a convex portion with a gas discharge hole 11 perforated at an outer circumferential face, a covering material 14 made from a resin material and having a through-hole is fitted to the outer circumferential face of the convex portion of the battery cover 12. Supposing that an inner diameter of the covering material 14 before being fitted is W, and that an outer diameter of the convex portion is D, W and D meets a relation given by an equation of 0.0005
