While observing the display, the user 1 designates the unnecessary line segment and inputs end line segment information to the control part 16. The control part 16 outputs a deletion command signal S16c to an unnecessary contour information calculation part 19. The calculation part 19 prepares information concerning the unnecessary line segment and outputs unnecessary contour information S19 to the calculation part 20. Then, the calculation part 20 outputs the contents excluding the information S19 from contents adding the information S18 to the information S17 as picture contour information OUT.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance the detection accuracy of a moving vector by detecting the moving vector of the past frame image against the present frame image together with the moving vector of the present frame image against the past frame image, and looking over through the moving vector to the present frame image against the past frame image again. CONSTITUTION:An optimum vector discriminating circuit 14 calculates an error quantity to a moving vector candidate with regard to all the moving vector candidates, whenever a notice picture element is changed, and outputs the moving vector candidate whose error quantity is the smallest as the detected moving vector. In this point, this circuit is the same as an optimum vector discriminating circuit in a conventional device, but it is different in the point that an output destination circuit is switched in accordance with a mode flag given from a mode flag switching circuit 20. In such a way, the detection accuracy of the moving vector can be enhanced.

    • PURPOSE:To much more improve accuracy in the correspondence of plural images by constituting the title device of linked edge detection parts for a left image and a right image, a linked edge correspondent relation calculation part and a recorrespondence processing part, etc. CONSTITUTION:The image pickup device of a left image data input part 10L and that of a right image data input part 10R are set so that the positions in a vertical direction on the image may be coincident. The left image linked edge detection part 11L and the right image linked edge detection part 11R respectively detect the linked edge equivalent to a contour in terms of the respective images. The linked edge correspondent relation calculation part 13 calculates the corresponding linked edge between the left image and the right image from left image linked edge information RL, right image linked edge information RR and initial correspondence information COR from an initial correspondence processing part 12. The recorrespondence processing part 14 divides the respective images into small areas according to the linked edges of the respective images extracted because they are coincident and executes the correspondence processing of the respective images every small divided area.
