    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the television receiver to detect a telecine video signal even when the signal includes much noise and to prevent a conventional signal not being a telecine video signal from being mis-detected as the telecine video signal by detecting an amount of noise in an input video signal and controlling a comparison level for film mode detection in response to the noise amount. SOLUTION: A film mode detection circuit detects whether or not an input signal is a telecine video signal and provides outputs of a still signal e1 and a correction signal f1. A subtractor circuit 2002 subtracts a signal f2 delayed by one frame at a frame memory 2001 and the input signal a1 in the unit of pixels, an integration circuit 2003 integrates the frame difference information within a field, and a comparator circuit 2005 applies binary processing to an output of the integration circuit 2003. A comparison level generating circuit 2004 generates comparison level i2 for the binary processing. The comparison level generating circuit 2004 receives a noise level c1 included in the input signal a1 and a setting level e2 and provides a high level output as the comparison level i2.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the same effect of vertical outline correction between the static and moving images by reducing and increasing the effect of vertical outline correction via a motion detection signal when input images are a static image and a moving image respectively. SOLUTION: A current line signal b1 and an interpolation line signal a1 are inputted to a vertical outline correction circuit 109. A moving image part has the vertical outline correction effect larger than a static image part by a motion detection signal f1 of a motion detection circuit 103, and a corrected current line signal d1 and a corrected interpolation line c1 are outputted. In other words, the vertical outline correction effect is reduced and increased when an input image is equal to a static image and a moving image respectively. Then both current and interpolation line signals are synthesized and converted into a sequential scan signal e1 by a time base conversion circuit 110. The signal e1 is outputted. Thus, the same horizontal outline correction effect is secured between the static and moving images.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain video recording and reproduction for plural video images simultaneously by distributing plural video signals to plural hard disk units and writing them respectively into the units, combining and decoding the stored signals at reproduction to select video recording and reproduction of the plural video images simply. SOLUTION: When number of input video signals is one at recording, the signal is distributed into N by a signal distribution section 1 and when number is N, the signals fed to memories 2a-2n as they are and stored tentatively in them and written respectively into hard disk units 3a-3n. In the case of reproduction, the signals recorded in the N-sets of the hard disk units are read in the memories 2 respectively and coupled through multiplexing in the recorded order by a signal coupling section 5 and decoded into the original video signal and reproduced. Thus, recording/reproduction of one video image and plural video images are selected simply and the access time is remarkably reduced in comparison with the time requiring program-search in the case of video recording of the plural video images in time division.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform plural signal processings of video signals, audio signals and data signals, etc., by switching a processing program in the period of not performing the signal processing of the video signals and performing the arithmetic processing of other signals. SOLUTION: When it is detected that a vertical blanking period is to start by vertical synchronizing signals synchronized with the video signals inputted from an input terminal 12, the arithmetic program of the data of audio or the like inputted from a data input terminal 11 is down-loaded from a program ROM 17 to a processor 15. The signals stored in a buffer memory 13 are read, selected in a signal switching device 14 and inputted to the processor 15 and the arithmetic processing of the signals is performed. When the signal processing of the signals inside the buffer memory 13 is completed, the program for the signal processing of the video signals is down-loaded to the processor 15. When the vertical blanking period ends, the processor 15 restarts the arithmetic operation of the video signals inputted from a video signal input terminal 10.
