摘要： PURPOSE:To produce a product or semi-finished product having a deflectless central part by preventing the generation of a central defect during production and the oxidation in a heating furnace. CONSTITUTION:A molten steel contg. - 1790Xe . The molten steel is solidified in the state of having the increased regular crystal nuclei in the secondary cooling zone and is cut on the outlet side of the continuous casting machine. The cut billet is subjected to build-up welding to the axial central part of the section thereof while the cutting temp. is>=200 deg.C then the billet is charged into a heating furnace where the billet is heated and rolled while the progression of oxidation from the axial central part is prevented by the build-up welding.

摘要： PURPOSE:To decrease deposition and to improve the yield of an ingot as a result of non-oxidation casting by embedding porous refractories having a specific sectional area or above into the specific position on one intermediate side face of a flow regulating nozzle made of non-porous refractories in the lower position of the tap hole of a tundish and blowing an inert gas through said refractories. CONSTITUTION:The flow straightening nozzle 5 made of the non-porous refractories is interposed between an insert nozzle 4 and immersion nozzle 6 of the tundish 1. The porous refractories 15 are embedded to the one intermediate side face within a narrow range of about + or -30 deg. along the mold 2 surface of the nozzle 5 and the diameter thereof is made about >=15% of the outside diameter of the flow regulating nozzle. The deposition in the nozzle is decreased by blowing the inert gas through such refractories 15. The yield of the ingot is thus improved by the non-oxidation casting.

CONSTITUTION: Each of the front and rear end edge parts of an aluminum killed steel plate is generally curved so as to form such a configuration that the intermediate part thereof in the lateral direction is curved in to the intermediate part side in the longitudinal direction. Therefore, the front and rear end parts of the aluminum killed steel plate are cut as crops after the completion of rough rolling. Macro-streak-flow investigation by step cutting is conducted on the rough bars cut as the crops and the grade of a final cold rolled product is judged on the basis of this investigation. Therefore, rapid and accurate judgement can be performed at the stage when rough rolling was finished.

The unsolidified part is stirred in the casting direction by said device in such a way that the product of the magnetic flux density (unit: gauss) at the boundary between the unsoldified part and the solidified part and the stirring time [the ratio between the effective length (mm.) of stirring with the electromagnetic stirrer/the drawing speed (m/min) of the billet in minute] attains 1,650- 2,000gauss/min with respect to the square of the drawing speed of the billet. The unsolidified part is stirred in the drawing position where the thickness thereof is 15-45% in the case of a high carbon steel contg. >=0.7% carbon.
